Bernard Riordon, Director & CEO of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, says about this year’s selected artist, “Eleni Bakopoulos is a fine choice for this year’s Studio Watch – Emerging Artist Series. Eleni uses images from art history and reinterprets them to add a feminist awareness. The Gallery offers its congratulations to Eleni and sincere thanks to all the artists who made a submission. I would like to thank Greenarm for partnering with the Gallery to foster emerging artists in New Brunswick.” Studio Watch – Emerging Artist Series is a five-year series which exposes up-and-coming New Brunswick artists, working full-time at making art for at least five years, to a wider audience.
