He has been a Director of the Board for nearly two years and he is also a donor. Through the Hutton Family Fund – a Donor Advised Fund established through the Hamilton Community Foundation - CAP can now count on a regular source of funding to grow their recently established Endowment Fund. It means that as the investment grows and generates money, CAP receives a portion of the dividends to help pay for operating expenses over the long-term and support the vital programs and services on which cancer patients in the community have come rely on. “It’s mine and my family’s way of giving back to the community,” said Ray. The family includes his mom Eileen, dad John, sisters Camille and Jane and wife Caroline. Each contribute to the Family Fund’s decision-making. “We have regular family council meetings with my parents, siblings and wife to talk about philanthropy,” Ray adds. In the fall of 2016, CAP created an Endowment Fund with the Hamilton Community Foundation with an initial $25,000 contribution. The Hutton Family made an initial gift of $6,134 and helping finance the revitalization of the former recently committed another $7,500 at the end Westinghouse building in the Barton and Sanford of February. “We are so pleased to receive this neighbourhood. first gift to our Endowment Fund and want to thank the Hutton Family for their leadership in While the Hutton Family Fund helps ease a making these gifts and their continued support financial burden on CAP’s annual expenses, Ray of our programs and services,” says Debbie Logel is helping guide CAP through many challenges, Butler, Executive Director of CAP. including moving into a larger building to accommodate more and more clients in need.
