5.3.2 Heritage Ball or other Event Action from January: members to come prepared with comments on proposal distributed at January meeting. General discussion: Are the proposed goals valid? What is the primary purpose? To raise awareness or to raise money? If money what is the monetary goal, what do we do with the money? If the goal is attract a different audience and become the “Heritage United Way” is a Heritage “Ball” the best way to achieve these goals? Helps to have a “great” occasion to accompany it, unless a ‘ball” is associated with a great event it may not successful, can we build on the idea of the Sara Calder event (fundraising for Battlefield) or the first Hamilton Museum article (Clementina Fessenden) that Rob forwarded to the Board members working group hoped to bring in a non-traditional audience, “ball” would attract the usual audience that we already attract, could we work with existing festival “It’s Your Day” Gala Awards and Royal Visit together something to include Public Art or the Hamilton Farmers’ Market Action: Add as standing agenda item beginning in March.
