CTC Holds Rally to Support Johnstown as Kraft Hockeyville, USA

Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) held an employee event at their Johnstown offices on March 5, 2015, to support the local community and promote Johnstown as America’s most passionate hockey community as a part of the Kraft Hockeyville contest. If chosen as Kraft Hockeyville, Johnstown will host a 2015-2016 NHL Pre-Season game and win $150,000 toward upgrading the Cambria County War Memorial arena.

Ice hockey has been a part of CTC employees and players from the show Johnstown for the past seven decades. their hockey pride and their support for Johnstown as Hockeyville, USA. The slogan for Johnstown’s campaign is “Capture the Spirit,” chosen not just to reflect the spirited hockey community that is present in Johnstown but also a reference to the timeless Johnstown classic, , which featured .

CTC’s Hockeyville event featured appearances by the Johnstown Tomahawks and the team’s mascot (Chopper) and included hockey-themed games and prizes. Laptops were also set up so that employees could submit their nomination for Johnstown as Kraft Hockeyville. Nominations close on March 18, 2015, so there is still time to support Johnstown as Kraft Hockeyville!

CTC also used the event to benefit the local community. A denim day, where employees could donate $5 in exchange for wearing jeans to work, and a food drive were held concurrently with the event. This resulted in 160 pounds of food and $570 being donated to St. Vincent DePaul “Food for Families,” which supply food to local food pantries and human services agencies.

CTC President & CEO Ed Sheehan, Jr. sent out a challenge to other area businesses, including Elmer Laslo from 1st Summit Bank, Bill Polacek at JWF industries, Marty Radovanic at WJACTV and Carolyn Donaldson at WTAJ. Let’s get Johnstown named as Hockeyville, USA!
