It is esmated that 1 in 4 people in the UK will e perience a mental health problem each year and 1 in 6 people in the past week e perienced a common mental problem## That%s just over 2 players in your team# )et, your teammates facing these challenges can face sgmasaon and discriminaon leading to a reluctance to reach out for mely support. The Cauli,ower Ear is a rugby club.based campaign, created funded by /ancashire County 01U, aimed at increasing awareness of mental health emoonal wellbeing issues within clubs and providing support as needed. 2espoke artwork posters displayed prominently in clubs will provide a focal point to raise consciousness and provoke posive conversaons around mental health emoonal wellbeing. The artwork will be changed throughout the season to maintain a freshness and connue the conversaon. It carries the contact details for professional support with counsellors put in place funded by /ancashire County 01U to support the members of its constuent clubs.     Edition 10: 20th September 2013 Rugby World Cup 2015 Lead Up and Legacy Activity The RFU launched the seven strands of its national Lead up and Legacy plan on October 31st 2012. The aim of this is to set out an overall framework against which national resource will be invested in the lead up to RWC 2015 with the aim of increasing interest and participation in the game. Whilst many Clubs, CBs, Schools, Colleges, Universities and other bodies are working hard to develop local projects to meet identified local need these seven strands are areas in which we will invest national resource to create change in Rugby communities across the country. It is hoped that those delivery bodies that have not yet identified their focus will focus in on these areas and take action to improve provision and opportunities against these themes. Six Regional Activation and Legacy Groups are now up and running and are working to add value to the seven strands and to engage partners from outside of the immediate rugby community in supporting the efforts of those within it. Each group is populated by representatives from CBs and from the wider community. Attached as an appendix to this CB update is a brief overview of progress against the seven strands along with listings of clubs/projects etc involved to date – this will be updated for each issue. In addition to the work against the seven strands strong working relationships have been established with England Rugby 2015, the Organising Body for the tournament itself, and an update on relevant areas are also included in the appendix.

The Congleton secretary has written to the County secretary. and the Old Longtonians secretary, giving reasons for the cancellations, and also to apologise for the late cancellation.

    LANCASHIRE COUNTY RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION ANNUAL REPORT 2018-19 THE SECRETARY’S OPENING REMARKS As ever my first job is to thank our President for the great work he has done this season. Dave Clarke has been unfailing in his club visits and is a true supporter of Rugby. He has been instrumental in the formation of the ADM Lancashire Leagues which has helped many of our clubs play more local matches. This has seen a number of players staying within the game. With the frequency of his more than daily telephone calls to discuss some issue in the game my children now do a very good impression of the Ginger Ninja from Wigan. Both Dave and myself are indebted to Mrs President, Anne. As well as being his secretary, Anne has deputised for me in meetings and acted as the minutes secretary in our general meetings. Thank you both. To Rugby, both our Senior Mens and Womens XVs failed to reach their finals which was not for want of trying, all our representative players should be thanks for the effort they put in to pulling on the Red & White hoops at the end of a long tiring club season. We will be back. Thanks to Mark Nelson, Steve Rigby, John Greenwood and all the backroom team who work hard to provide these opportunities. Our 20s team did make their day out in Twickenham where they went down to a very strong Yorkshire team, I’m sure we will be seeing more of these lads progressing through to our Senior XV and more success in County Rugby.

I have visited approximately half the Clubs in Cheshire and hope during my second year to have visited the vast majority of our member clubs. I have been to clubs who are playing in the National Leagues and the next visit has been to a club struggling to put out one team at the lowest league level. The striking feature of all clubs is the hard work and dedication of the volunteers many of them past players of advancing years who, week after week, in all weathers turn up to do their regular tasks and support their team.
