Comments Blackwater & Hawley Town Council are disappointed to see this attractive and historic Henry Clutton designed site, built as a self-contained 'model Farm', has fallen in to such a state of disrepair that the reality of the buildings being restored under the current ownership would be unlikely, and in the interests of removing any danger as a result of further deterioration, accept that demolition may be a justifiable option.

However, given the proximity and relationship to Minley Manor, The Council feel that any replacement buildings, such as the 'Stone Shed' mentioned, should be constructed with materials sympathetic to the environment and the manor, perhaps making use of any salvageable walls or buildings, if only as a façade.

Additionally, as there are a number of public footpaths passing nearby, it's felt that any unattractive, utilitarian style replacement buildings would have negative impact on the aesthetics of the surrounding nature.

The Council were pleased to note that a considerable amount of effort has been taken to establish the presence of bats/colonies roosting in the buildings, and would fully expect any loss of habitat to be addressed with the addition of appropriate bat houses.
