We also believe that our music is not just for our parish, but the entire community. The Epiphany choir is comprised of approximately 50 singers, and opportunities for involvement span all ages. There are also non-singing opportunities for those who would like to serve on the music guild and help with day to day operations of the music program. If you are interested in joining us in our work, contact the Music Staff through the church offce. SUNDAY MORNING There is choral music each Sunday morning at the 8:45 and 11:00 am services. This service is sung by the Epiphany Choir. Twice a month, our choristers join the adults and form an intergenerational choir in the Anglican tradition. ABOUT THE ADULT CHOIR Epiphany’s Adult Choir is comprised of approximately 40 members who come from a variety of musical backgrounds. Membership through audition is open to adults and boys with changed voices. We sing a Sunday morning Holy Eucharist each Sunday during the program year in addition to Choral Evensong as scheduled. New members are always encouraged to join this active and caring community of singers. ABOUT THE CHORISTERS The Epiphany Parish choir program provides children and youth ages 9 and up with outstanding professional choral training, music theory, and leadership development. Choristers become part of an intergenerational choir experience, where people of all ages come together to offer sacred music of the highest quality in the praise of God. No previous musical experience is required, only an eagerness to learn, and a commitment to the choir schedule. Children do not need to be Episcopalian, or a member of Epiphany to participate. Choristers also have the opportunity to study piano through the Epiphany Music Academy, for which a limited number of partial scholarships are available. ABOUT CHORAL EVENSONG Sung at the close of day in Cathedrals and churches throughout the world, Choral Evensong is a service of Evening Prayer, derived from the ancient offces of Vespers and Compline. The choir sings the traditional evening prayers of the church that have been offered for centuries, while the congregation listens, joins in the hymns, and adds their own prayers to those of the choir. It is an opportunity for peaceful meditation before the start of a busy week. A reception follows each service in the freside room. At Epiphany, Choral Evensong is offered on the following Sundays this program year: September 29 - St. Michael & All Angels February 9 - Have a Heart for outreach October 20 - all female composers February 23 - Last Sunday of Epiphany November 24 - Christ the King March 8 - Felicity & Perpetua, martyrs December 22 - Advent IV April 19 - St. Anselm January 26 - Sts.
