    A NEW HEAVEN writer of the Book of Revelation, describing the A NEW HEAVEN ravaging of the world through divine judgement, The theme of this recording is ‘relevation’, both the battles between good and evil, and the divine revelation (particularly the apocalyptic world’s eventual remaking as ‘a new heaven visions of the Book of Revelation) and revelatory and a new earth’ in which death and suffering visions of earth and heaven. The inspiration are no more.     We Will Remember Them Saturday 1st November 2014 Queens’ College Chapel, Cambridge In aid of the Poppy Appeal and Queens’ music Founded by graduates from Cambridge chapel choirs, the Godwine Choir was set up to capture the atmosphere of chamber music at university and bring it to London as part of professional life. The group is comprised of twenty-five young singers who rehearse together weekly at the church of St George the Martyr in Borough. The choir specialises in a capella music from the 20th and 21st century; they have recently performed works by a number of contemporary composers, such as Gabriel Jackson. Future plans include performances in several London venues, a recital in Buckfast Abbey and a tour to the Amalfi coast. This evening we present a reflective sequence of music and readings for All Souls' Day. We especially remember all those who lost their lives in the Great War.     Music All Saints’ 2018-2019 WELCOME September 2018 Dear Friends, We are delighted to welcome you to this season of Music at All Saints’! The coming year continues our tradition of offering glorious sacred choral music at both Sunday Eucharist, monthly Evensong, Compline, Lessons and Carols for Advent and Christmas, and in concert. In addition, we are thrilled share the first season of All Saints’ Chamber Choir’s concert series offering George Frederic Handel’s The Messiah in its entirety on December 2nd as well as small scale sacred cantatas by Dieterich Buxtehude, J. S. Bach, and Heinrich Schutz in early March. We also celebrate the opening of All Saints’ Music School, a community outreach of All Saints’ Parish. Our Sunday Evensong Organ recital series resumes in October and continues through May. This booklet outlines the musical offering for the coming season, particularly the 9 & 11 AM Holy Eucharist services on Sunday mornings. Also included is an envelope for your support of Friends of Music at All Saints’. Whether you are a parishioner or a friend of music, we hope you will consider making a donation to support our musical presence in North Central Phoenix, for the worship or concert setting.     Edgar Bainton's Australian Symphonies

    Edgar Bainton’s Australian symphonies Dr Rhoderick McNeill, University of Southern Queensland Abstract Dr Edgar Bainton (1880-1956) was an established British composer at the time of his appointment as Head of the New South Wales State Conservatorium of Music in 1934. He then spent 22 years in Sydney, retaining the post of Head of the Con until his retirement in 1945 and then composing, conducting and examining during his last years. Bainton made a significant contribution to Australian musical life and, amongst other works, composed two symphonies which were given their world premieres in 1941 and 1957 respectively. Both works demonstrate Bainton’s skill in handling a musical idiom not dissimilar to that of Bax, but with a more convincing sense of musical continuity than his more famous contemporary. This paper will place Bainton’s 2nd and 3rd symphonies into its larger British and Australian symphonic context. The Third Symphony emerges as the last substantial Romantic/Impressionist symphony of the British composers from his generation. Over the past twelve years or so there has been a revival of interest in Britain in the music of the British/Australian composer Edgar Bainton. Thanks to the efforts of the British-based Bainton Society, record company Chandos have recorded three CDs of major Bainton orchestral works, including the Symphony No.2 in D minor, and Dutton released a recording of Symphony No.3 in C minor in 2007. Prior to this, Bainton’s symphonies were rarely heard (with the exception of intermittent broadcasts in Australia of 1950s mono recordings). Concert performances were even rarer, with two performances of the second symphony in an Australian Heritage series of concerts in 1994 - the first since 1955 – and no performances of the third symphony since its premiere in 1957.
