Jesus in India JESUS IN INDIA Jesus in India Jesus BACKGROUND PUBLISHER’S NOTES JESUS IN INDIA Jesus in India is the English version of Masih Hindustan Mein, an Urdu treatise in India Jesus written by the Holy Founder of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi The main thesis expounded in this treatise is Jesus' deliverance from death on the Cross and his subsequent journey to India in quest of the lost tribes of Israel whom he had to gather into his fold as foretold by Jesus himself 1835-1908 Page iii ‘JESUS IN INDIA’ PROVIDES EVIDENCE THAT Jesus started his journey from Jerusalem and passing through Nasibus and Iran, Jesus reached Afghanistan in India Jesus Where he met the Jews who had settled there after their escape from the bonds of Nebuchadnezzar From Afghanistan Jesus went to Kashmir where some Israelite tribes had also settled He made Kashmir his home where he died and is buried in Srinagar, Kashmir Page iii JESUS IN INDIA THE MESSAGE Jesus—a true prophet of God was saved from in India Jesus death on the cross, lived a long life and is buried in Srinagar Kashmir It transformed the Masih Hindustan Mein, theological landscape was—it still is—an epoch- of Judaism, Pauline making and cataclysmic Christianity and book conventional Islam Page iv JESUS IN INDIA Written in 1899, and partly serialized in Review of Religions in 1902 and 1903, the book was published in India Jesus on 20th November 1908 The first English translation, by the late Qazi Abdul Hamid, was published in 1944 On instructions from Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, Khalifat-ul-Masih IV, Imam of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at, the present edition was thoroughly revised by Professor Muhammad Ali Chaudhry Page v Jesus in India Jesus INTRODUCTION AIMS AND OBJECTIVE OF WRITING THE BOOK Jesus in India Jesus To dispel serious misconceptions about the earlier and later life of Jesus (on whom be peace) by authentic evidence Page 1 THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVE OF WRITING THIS BOOK Jesus in India Jesus These misconceptions about the life of Jesus and Jihad have hijacked and destroyed the concept of Tauhid—Divine Unity and has adversely effected the moral condition of Muslims Page 1 THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVE OF WRITING THIS BOOK Commenting lamentably at the deteriorated moral conditions of Muslims and totally erroneous concept of Jihad, the Promised Messiah ( on whom be peace) said, Jesus in India Jesus ‘By the grace of God, I have adduced arguments powerful enough to dispel these unfounded beliefs from peoples’ minds’ The Promised Messiah ( on whom be peace) expressed hope that by clear proofs along with conclusive circumstantial and historical evidence truth will be understood The real object of this book is to correct the wrong beliefs which have found their way into the creeds of the Muslims and the Christians Page 3 JESUS AND BELIEFS OF MUSLIMS AND CHRISTIANS Christians are guilty of a grave error in calling a humble man God Jesus in India Jesus Christians and most Muslims believe that Jesus was raised to the heavens alive; he is still alive in the heavens and will return to the earth sometime in the latter days Muslims believe in a bloodthirsty Mahdi and an equally violent Messiah Page 3, 6 BELIEVING IN A BLOOD-THIRSTY MESSIAH AND MAHDI This belief has corrupted their moral condition to the extent that Muslims can not live with other people in peace and harmony, or can be loyal to a non-Muslim government Jesus in India Jesus A belief that non-Muslims should be subjected to coercion that they should either become Muslims or be put to death, is open to very serious objections Such harsh thinking makes hearts devoid of human sympathy, justice and compassion; and allows spite and ill will to flourish leading to brutality But it is only too obvious that such teachings cannot be from God, Who punishes only after His message has been fully communicated Page 6-7 MESSIAH OF THE TIME Jesus in India Jesus I alone am the light of this age of darkness He who follows me will be saved from falling into the pits prepared by the Devil for those who walk in the dark Page 12-13 MESSIAH OF THE TIME God has commanded me that with I have been sent by God to lead the in India Jesus humility and peace I should invite world to the True God people to God I publicly proclaim that God has revealed to me that the Promised Messiah who is also the Mahdi, tidings of whose appearance are found in the Bible, the Holy Qur’an and Ahadith is none other than myself God has provided me with I have been sent to re-establish the heavenly signs for the satisfaction reign of moral values in Islam of seekers of truth Page 12-13 JESUS IN INDIA; THE FACTS REVEALED I shall try to prove in this book that Jesus did notin India Jesus die on the cross, nor did he go up to the heavens; nor would he ever again come down to the earth The fact of the matter is that Jesus died at the age of 120 years at Srinagar, Kashmir, where his tomb is still to be found in the Khan Yar quarter Page 14 A NOTE TO THE READER FROM THE AUTHOR I trust that those who read this in India Jesus book will do so carefully, and will not reject, out of prejudice, the truth contained in it I pray to God that He may help me in this undertaking and lead me by His special revelation and inspiration to the perfect Light of truth Page 15 .

Through the frame of world religion classifcation, this study emphasizes what makes these sects become and classifed by many scholars as ‘New Religions’ while other sects are not. This study re-looks at how hybrid religions have been crafted, developed and classifed based on the age of the religion and where those religions frst appeared, this study also looks at the historical process of how these hybrid religions became new religions. By considering the historical process, understanding prophecy, religious teaching, believe and particular interpretation over the main religions, this study aims to understand the emergent process of ‘new religions’ as temporary shelters for illegitimate sects. By comparing two sects, I conclude that these new religions have some common grounds which can be seen through interpreting the meaning of ‘prophet’ and ‘prophecy’, religious entities that make these sects excluded from the big umbrellas they are under Islam and Christianity.     Book Review: ‘Jesus died in Kashmir: Jesus, Moses, and the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel’ by A. Faber-Kaiser Amtul Mussawir Mansoor Introduction A. Faber Kaiser, a philosopher and a scholar of comparative religions, heard of the ‘Kashmir Hypothesis’ and became interested when he discovered that there was a tomb in Kashmir that belonged to Jesus. He himself decided to go to Kashmir and investigate the hypothesis more thoroughly. In his book, he examines the evidence and presents historical and physical proofs, that Jesus Christ, in fact, survived the crucifixion, and travelled East, to find the “Children of Israel,” in order to complete his mission. The purpose of this book was to inform a large sector of the public about the possibility that Jesus did not die on the cross and did not ascend physically to heaven. This possibility is not widely known. The accepted Christian dogma regarding Jesus is that he was crucified at noon on a Friday, and then on the same day before sunset, the body was taken down from the cross and his body was given to Joseph of Arimathaea and was laid to rest in his sepulcher. A large stone blocked the entrance of the tomb and on Sunday, the body was gone from the tomb. In this way, the Biblical prophecy was fulfilled and Jesus had risen from the dead. After visiting his disciples, he ascended to heaven to sit on the right hand of God. The author incidentally points out regarding this Biblical description that “there is no historical evidence that Jesus did die on the cross, and there is no record that anyone witnessed the resurrection.” He further says, “but there is considerable evidence that a man with the same ideas and philosophy as Jesus set out eastwards at precisely this time, leaving behind him a trail of proof of his life and acts.

Ahmad The Muslim Sunrise, Summer 1991 This paper was presented at the International Conference on Deliverance of Jesus from Cross held at Commonwealth Institute, London, on June 2-4 1978. The three most important world religions — Judaism, Christianity, and Islam — have a deep though conflicting interest and involvement in Jesus. Among them, the three religions claim adherents who account for a vast majority of the world population. The present conference is designed to focus world attention on a matter of great importance so that the controversy around the person of Jesus is resolved and all seekers after truth are enable to shed their wrong beliefs. It certainly is an invitation to each one of us to reflect deeply on the matter, weigh objectively the evidence and historical proof now available, and acknowledge the truth even if it should be in conflict with our present beliefs. The enigma surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus and his post-crucifixion life among the lost tribes of Israel was first untangled through Divine guidance by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah, in his book “Jesus in India” which was written as far back as 1899. The evidence on the subject, which has been put together from older books, has only confirmed the thesis which he had presented some 80 years back. The controversy still persists, the differences still exist, but the consensus in the direction pointed out by the Promised Messiah at the close of the last century, is unmistakable. We believe it is only a matter of time before the world will be compelled to acknowledge the truth which Divine guidance had revealed to him.
