GV alumna killed on fundraising bike ride Lee Anne Barry, a 1990 graduate of Grand Valley State University, was killed while participating in a charity bike tour across the U.S., according to a report from WZZM 13 News. As a survivor of a successful brain surgery when she was a teenager, 43-year-old Barry was an advocate for brain injury prevention and safety awareness. This was her fourth year participating in the cross-country bike tour, BIG Ride. The tour raises money for brain injury prevention programs all over the ■ U.S. This year’s bike ride began Sept. 7 in Great Falls, Mont, and was scheduled to end Oct. 21 in Columbia, S.C.
