Cortina d’Ampezzo : Beautifully situated in the center of a vast valley, the valley d’Ampezzo, crowned by the superb mountain peaks of and , Cortina is the heart of the Dolomiti of the . The happy setting allows easy access to all the other nearby locations through the “passi”, passes, of Falzarego, Giau and Tre Croci. Cortina is the Queen of the Dolomiti and is the biggest and most famous of the 18 provinces that form the . Cortina is situated at the top of the Valle del , and is positioned between Cadore (south) and the (north), Val d' Ansiei (east) and Agordo (west). It is encircled 360° by the Dolomites. Among the more famous mountains are Tofane, , Cristallo, Faloria and Sorapis, and Becco di Mezzodì, and . The city centre is located at an elevation of 1,224 metres (4,016 ft), although the highest summit is that of the Tofana di Mezzo, which towers at 3,244 metres (10,643 ft). There is a significant water presence in the territory, in the form of torrents, streams and little lakes (Ghedina, Pianozes, d'Ajal), which fill particularly during the summer snow-melt season. Fauna includes marmots, roe deer, chamoises and hares. One of the memorable James Bond stunt sequences in 1981's For Your Eyes Only, gunners on spike-wheeled motorcycles chasing Roger Moore on skis, was filmed on its slopes, as were several scenes in the film Cliffhanger. Audrey Hepburn was a frequent visitor to the slopes of Cortina. After Ernest Hemingway's wife Hadley lost a suitcase filled with Hemingway's manuscripts at the Gare de Lyon in Paris he took a time off. He began writing that same year again in Cortina d'Ampezzo and the story he wrote here was Out of Season.

Val di Fassa is a valley in the Dolomites of region. It is the home of the Ladin community which makes up the majority of the population. Rare beauty and astonishing landscape that had become myth. Val di Fiemme the valley was part of the Cisalpin Gaul province of the . In the Middle Ages Val di Fiemme belonged to the Bishopric of Trento. Under the Austrian Empire, it was part of so-called "Welschtirol" (Ladin speaking ) from the early 19th century until 1919-20. For the time after 1919/20, Tyrol was partitioned and Trentino- became part of Italy as a tourist attraction. Val di Fiemme has become well known for its skying areas, even hosting the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 1991,2003,2013.

Madonna di Campiglio a discreet and elegant town nestling at an altitude of 1550 metres in the stupendous valley between the Brenta Dolomites and the glaciers of Adamello and Presanella, is today most certainly Italy’s number one as well as one of the most important resorts in the . The ski area around Madonna has 57 lifts and 150 km (93 mi) of ski runs, with a capacity of more than 31,000 people per hour, rises to 2,600 m (8,530 ft), has 50,000 m2 (12 acres) of snow park, 40 km (25 mi) for Nordic and links to the slopes in , Folgarida, and Marilleva. Madonna di Campiglio is the main point of access to the Brenta Dolomites with its famous .
