Mercredi 14 octobre. Il fait bon. Deux jours de mauvais temps ont retardé notre traversée, mais nous n’avons plus qu’un but, qu’une volonté : passer. Après une dernière dérive sur la terre ferme, un dernier coup d’œil sur Dakar et la presqu’île du Cap Vert, nous grimpons à 2000 mètres. Le moteur ronfle de façon rassurante. Dessous, la mer est complètement calme. Nous utilisons les quelques cumulus rencontrés pour calculer notre dérive et à intervalles irréguliers, nous échangeons nos impressions sur l’océan par le moyen d’une feuille de bloc-notes, transmise par un trou réservé dans la cloison qui nous sépare. Vers 19h des « moutons » sur la mer nous signalent un grain très probable, puis, soudain, une haute barrière de nuages sombres se dresse. Le « pot au noir » comme disent les marins. La pluie redouble, l’obscurité devient de plus en plus épaisse. Pendant 45mn nous montons… Ouf ! Un halo solaire et puis l’air libre.

Il s'agit de quatre œuvres offertes à Joseph Le Brix entre 1928 et 1931 : La délivrance Achille enfant La Délivrance est l’œuvre d'Émile Oscar Guil- laume (1867-1942), réalisée en 1914 et inti- Bronze du sculp- tulée à l'origine La Victoire.
