Het Programma Afdrukken CHINA Het keizerlijke China Rondreis met privégids | Kant-en-Klaar - 12 dagen / 10 nachten | REF: 661 REISBESCHRIJVING Peking - Mutianyu - Pingyao - Xi’an - Tunxi - Huangshan - Bishan - Tongli - Shanghai INTRODUCTIE Vertrek op dinsdag, donderdag of zaterdag. Gedurende eeuwen was China voor Westerlingen een ver en exotisch oord. Enkel specerijen, zijde en prachtige kunstvoorwerpen kwamen uit dit geheimzinnig land. Reizen door China is dan ook een onderdompeling in een vreemde, maar boeiende wereld vol verrassingen en tegenstellingen. Terwijl er op het platteland nog een eeuwenoude Chinese cultuur bewaard werd, ontpopten de verstedelijkte gebieden zich tot consumptiemaatschappijen met bloeiende economieën. REISBESCHRIJVING DAG 1 - Vlucht naar PEKING DAG 2 - Beijing –Simatai Aankomst en onthaal op de luchthaven door uw gids. Vertrek naar Simatai, een rit van 2 uren. Aankomst te Gubei Watertown en check-in in het hotel dichtbij Grote Muur. Sensations kiest voor een minder toeristische locatie, want deze is veel spectaculairder dan de populaire site van Badaling. Na wat rust maakt u een prachtige wandeling op de Muur. DAG 3 - Simatai – Beijing Na een ochtendwandeling over een verlaten stuk van de Grote Muur vertrekt u naar het Zomerpaleis in Beijing. Vervolgens verder naar de hutongs, de typisch Pekinese oude wijken met smalle straatjes en oude huizen. Check-in in het hotel. DAG 4 - Beijing Vroege wandeling en bezoek aan de Tempel van de Hemel. Vervolgens ontdekking van het Tian An Men plein en de Verboden Stad, een aaneenschakeling van grote pleinen en paleizen. Verkenning van de verschillende zalen en het Paleis van de Onthouding, vandaag een museum waar de keizerlijke schatten bewaard worden. Daarna bezoekt u het Park van de Steenkoolheuvel, waar u van het uitzicht over heel Beijing kunt genieten. Terugrit en overnachting in het hotel. DAG 5 - Beijing - Pingyao Bezoek aan de Lama Tempel, gewijd aan Confucius. Transfer naar het station waar u de hogesnelheidstrein neemt naar Pingyao. Aankomst en check-in in het hotel. DAG 6 - PINGYAO - XI’AN Wandeling in het oude centrum van Pingyao, erkend als Unesco-werelderfgoed. Veel gebouwen dateren uit de Ming en Qing dynastie. Bezoek aan de tempel Shuanglin Si en twee zeer mooie voorbeelden van oude architectuur: de voormalige Rishengchang bank en de residentie van de Lokale Gouverneur. Transfer naar het station waar u de hogesnelheidstrein neemt naar Xi’an. Aankomst en transfer naar het hotel. DAG 7 - XI'AN Na het ontbijt bezoek aan het graf van de eerste keizer Qin Shi Huangdi en zijn leger van 6.000 krijgers in terracotta. Wandeling doorheen de oude wijken van Xi’an en bezoek aan de Grote Moskee. DAG 8 - XI'AN - TUNXI - HUANGSHAN Wandeling op de indrukwekkende vestingmuren en bezoek aan een jade-atelier. Bezoek aan het park van de kleine Pagode van de Wilde Gans. Vervolgens volgt u een les in kalligrafie. Transfer naar de luchthaven en vlucht naar Huangshan (op dinsdag, donderdag of zaterdag). Intrek in het hotel. DAG 9 - HUANGSHAN - BISHAN Vroeg ontbijt vertrek naar de prachtige regio van Mount Huangshan of Yellow Mountain, de verzamelnaam voor een uitgestrekt gebied vol gekartelde granieten bergtoppen. Wandeling door de westelijke vallei met een adembenemend zicht over de «zee van wolken». Verder naar het dorp Bishan en intrek in een bijzondere maar eenvoudige herberg, gebouwd tijdens de Qing-dynastie. In Bishan en omgeving ziet u het authentieke plattelandsleven. Talrijke traditionele dorpen, eindeloze velden, rivieren en contact met de lokale bevolking. DAG 10 - BISHAN - SHANGHAI Na het ontbijt doet u een fietstocht doorheen prachtige landschappen, gevolgd door een wandeling in het dorp om er het dagelijkse leven te observeren en de sfeer op te snuiven. Ontdekking van enkele typische dorpen om te eindigen in het meer toeristische Hongcun, dat samen met het dorp Xidi erkend is als Unesco-werelderfgoed. Transfer naar het station van Huangshan en vertrek met de hogesnelheidstrein naar de bruisende metropool Shanghai, een rit van ca. 4 uren. Bij aankomst wordt u opgewacht en naar het hotel gebracht. DAG 11 - SHANGHAI Bezoek aan het oude Shanghai met de Tuin van de Mandarijn Yu en de tempel van de Jaden Boeddha. Fietstocht doorheen de oude Franse concessie met koffiepauze in de legendarische Art Deco-wijk. Bezoek aan Pudong waarvan sommige wolkenkrabbers op meer dan 630 meter hoogte eindigen. Klim naar de top van de Jinmaotoren voor een panoramisch uitzicht over de stad. Cruise op de Huangpu-rivier om de verlichte stad te bewonderen. DAG 12 - SHANGHAI - TERUGVLUCHT Ontbijt en vrije tijd tot aan transfer naar luchthaven. Terugvlucht naar Europa (aankomst dezelfde dag of s’anderendaags afhankelijk van de vluchturen).     SPRING 2016 CONSERVATION IN CHINA A Note from the Director For over twenty-five years, it has been the Getty Conservation Institute’s great privilege to work with colleagues in China engaged in the conservation of cultural heritage. During this quarter century and more of professional engagement, China has undergone tremendous changes in its social, economic, and cultural life—changes that have included significant advance- ments in the conservation field. In this period of transformation, many Chinese cultural heritage institutions and organizations have striven to establish clear priorities and to engage in significant projects designed to further conservation and management of their nation’s extraordinary cultural resources. We at the GCI have admiration and respect for both the progress and the vision represented in these efforts and are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage in China. The contents of this edition of Conservation Perspectives are a reflection of our activities in China and of the evolution of policies and methods in the work of Chinese conservation professionals and organizations. The feature article offers Photo: Anna Flavin, GCI a concise view of GCI involvement in several long-term conservation projects in China. Authored by Neville Agnew, Martha Demas, and Lorinda Wong— members of the Institute’s China team—the article describes Institute work at sites across the country, including the Imperial Mountain Resort at Chengde, the Yungang Grottoes, and, most extensively, the Mogao Grottoes. Integrated with much of this work has been our participation in the development of the China Principles, a set of national guide- lines for cultural heritage conservation and management that respect and reflect Chinese traditions and approaches to conservation.

The trade in products generates virtual water flow, as does the flow of people. The flow of international tourists will inevitably lead to the transfer and exchange of water resources embedded in the virtual form. This study takes China’s inbound tourism flow as the research object, from the perspective of the water footprint, in order to explore virtual water “exports” to the world. Based on kernel density estimation and ArcGIS spatial analysis, spatial- temporal evolution and structural difference were investigated. Virtual water “exports” showed an increasing trend. The kernel density estimation curves basically exhibited a “single peak” feature which indicated that virtual water “exports” from tourism were not significantly polarized in China. In terms of spatial evolution, this varied greatly at the provincial and regional level and Guangdong was always in the high value area.     0riginal scientilic paper ・Vol.51.― No.2/2003/215-2340UDC 338 484:5021311(5123) Indigenous society and immigrants: tourism and retailing in Lijiang, China, a World Heritage city Takayoshi Yamamura Department of Tourism Design, Kyoto Saga University of Arts, Kyoto, Japan SUMMARY This paper examines the present state of commercial use of historical buildings, details of business categories, and descriptions of itens on sale in the shops in the old town of Lijiang, China in order to investigate the problems of culturallourism development centered on World Heritage s[es. /n recent years, the usage of historical buildings built by the Naxis, the indigenous ethnic group of Lijiang, has drastically changed. At present, over 60% of shops are tourist-oriented souvenir shops and restaurants. Furthermore, over 50% of the shopkeepers are temporary residents, with a large majority renting rooms from indigenous owners. These findings suggest that the location of the minority's residence and its culture are rapidly changing as tourism develops. They also imply that a re-evaluation of policy is essential for the development of sustainable tourism.
