1974, Eigerreko iparraldeko aldea, Clint Eastwood “The Eiger Sanction” pelikulako eszena zailenetariko batean buru-belarri ari zen bitartean, Hamish MacInnesek, grabaketako segurtasu arduradunak, zazpigarren edizio honen kartela irudiztatzen duen argazkia atera zuen. Eskoziatik (Fort Williameko Festibaletik) eta Estatu Batuetatik (Alpinist Aldizkaritik) eskaini diguten kolaborazioari eta argazkia lortzeko lagundu diguten hainbat pertsonen konpromisoari esker, Mendi Film Festibaleko lan taldeak bizi izan duen esperientzia onenetakoa izan da hau. Laguntza eta konpromiso espiritu horrek mendiaren mamia irudikatzen du, urtero gure programan islatzen saiatzen garenaren muina. Esentzia horri eutsita, aukera berriak dakartzan etapa hasiko dugu. Etorkizun hori ezagutzeko gonbitea egiten dizut esku artean duzun liburua ikuskatuta, eta noski, festibalean esperientzia paregabea bizita. Eskerrik asko, Hamish!
1974, cara norte del Eiger, mientras Clint Eastwood se empleaba a fondo en una de las escenas más complicadas de la película The Eiger Sanction, Hamish MacInnes, responsable de la seguridad durante el rodaje lo inmortaliza en la foto que ilustra el cartel de esta 7ª edición. La colaboración que desde Escocia (Festival de Fort William) a Estados Unidos (Revista Alpinist), y el compromiso de tantas personas que nos han ayudado para conseguir la foto ha sido una de las mejores experiencias vividas por el equipo del Mendi. Ese espíritu de colaboración y compromiso representa la esencia del mundo de la montaña, el que año tras año intentamos refl ejar en el programa. Manteniendo esa esencia iniciamos una etapa de nuevos horizontes. Te invito a que los descubras ojeando el libro que tienes en tus manos, y por supuesto a que los vivas intensamente durante el festival. Gracias, Hamish!
1974, the Eiger North face… whilst Clint Eastwood gets down to shooting one of the most complicated scenes of the fi lm The Eiger Sanction, Hamish MacInnes, responsible for safety during the fi lming, immortalises it in the photo which appears on the poster for this 7th edition. The collaboration from Scotland (The Fort William Festival) to the USA (Alpinist Magazine), and the commitment of so many people who have helped us to obtain the photo has been one of the best things that the Mendi team has ever experienced. That spirit of collaboration and commitment represents the essence of the mountain world, which we try to refl ect year after year in the programme. In keeping with that essence, we begin a phase of new horizons. 2013an Alberto Iñurrategik, Juan Vallejok eta Mikel Zabalzak Karakorumen kokatutako 6610 metroko dorrea, Paiju Peak, mendebaldetik eskalatzea baztertu SPAIN behar izan zuten. de escalar el Pilar Oeste del Paiju Peak, una torre de 6610 metros ubicada en el Fundación corazón del Karakorum. Un año más tarde, lo vuelven a intentar en la que será The Walk On Project la primera etapa de su proyecto WOPeak, colaborando con la Fundación WOP. Alberto Iñurrategi forma parte del imaginario colectivo del himalayismo vasco, toda una referencia dispuesta ahora a encarar al público en una entrevista íntima, un recorrido por su existencia, sus reflexiones, sus ascensiones y su forma de entender una vida rica en experiencias. Hansjörg Auer eskalatzaile austriarrak Patagoniara, Pakistanera eta Yosemiteko bailarara egindako espedizioetan parte hartu du, Cerro Torreko Compresor bidean eta Trango Dorreetako Eternal Flame bidean, esaterako. Andres de Regil bilbotarraren omenez sortutako probak 40 urte betetzen ditu aurten. Andres Gorbean hil zen istripu batean 1970. urtean. Mendi eskiko Europako Pikoetako rallyari Andres de Regil Kopa izena jarri zioten gerora. Erakusketak probako artxiboko material interesgarria izango du: aspaldiko argazkiak, eskiak, kamerak… La prueba creada en conmemoración del bilbaíno Andrés de Regil, cumple 40 años. Andrés falleció en un accidente en el monte Gorbea en 1970. Más tarde, el rally de esquí de montaña Picos de Europa se recuperó con el nombre de Copa Andrés de Regil. La exposición mostrará interesante material de archivo de la prueba: fotografías, esquís, cámaras antiguas… The event created in memory of Andrés de Regil from Bilbao, is 40 years old. Andrés died in an accident on the Gorbea mountain in 1970. Later, the ski rally in the Picos de Europa mountains was recovered and given the name ‘The Andrés Regil Cup’. The exhibition shows interesting archive material of the event: photographs, skis, old cameras…

Mendi Zinemaren Nazioarteko Batzarra (IAMF) mendiko zinema sustatu, hobetu eta kontserbatzeko sortu zen. Haren bidez proiektu bateratuak erabili izan dira batzarra osatzen duten kideen ohiko jarduera instituzionaletan. 22 kidek osatzen dute gaur egun IAMF: 21 mendiko zinemaldi eta museo bat; Europa, Asia, Ipar Amerika eta Hego Amerika daude ordezkatuak bertan. IAMF ekitaldi irekietan aurkeztua izan da urteetan zehar, eta halakoetan bilera eta elkarlan garrantzitsuak egin eta sortu izan dira. Osatu duen ibilbide oparoari esker izen ona hartua du IAMF-k. Sektorean garrantzitsuenetakoak diren operadoreak kide dira, eta mendiko zinemagintzaren ekoizle, errealizadore, sustatzaile eta kontserbatzaileentzat ezinbesteko erreferentzia bihurtu da.
La Alianza Internacional de Cine de Montaña (IAMF) se instituyó para promover, mejorar y conservar el cine de montaña a través de proyectos comunes que pudieran incorporarse a las actividades institucionales regulares de los organismos miembros. Hoy en día la IAMF está compuesta por 22 miembros: 21 festivales de cine de montaña y un museo que representan a 18 países de Europa, Asia y América del Norte y del Sur. Durante años, la IAMF ha sido presentada en una serie de eventos comunes, en los que se han producido importantes colaboraciones y reuniones. A lo largo de su trayectoria, la IAMF, que incluye entre sus miembros a los operadores de mayor prestigio en el sector, se ha hecho con un nombre y se ha convertido en el principal punto de referencia para productores, realizadores, promotores y conservadores del cine de montaña.
The International Alliance for Mountain Film (IAMF) was instituted to promote, enhance and conserve mountain cinematography through communal projects that would flank or be incorporated into the regular institucional activities of the member bodies. Today the IAMF numbers 22 Members: 21 festivals of mountain film and a museum wich represent 18 countries of Europe, Asia, and North and South America. Over the years the IAMF has been presented in a number of comunal events, while important exchanges of collaboration and meetings have occurred. Along its shared path the IAMF, which incluyes the most prestigious operators in the sector among its Members, has successfully made a name for itself and has become the main reference point for those who produce, make, promote and conserve mountain film.
