2021 Summer Athletic Camps - Policies and Procedures Participant Eligibility Maine East H.S. students and registered incoming Freshmen may participate in the Summer Athletic Program. Grade/age level is often designated in the title or description of each camp. Grade level is defined as the grade the student will enter in the fall. For any student, you must live in the Maine East attendance area to attend an athletic summer camp at Maine East High School. Registration 1. All registrations must be done online. Registration is available at the following link: https://maineeast.8to18.com 2. If you choose to use a credit card, the company will be charging a small fee. Otherwise, you can write an electronic check (with your bank routing and account numbers) for no additional charge. 3. You will get an email confirmation immediately after registering your child. 4. If you use a credit card, it will be processed immediately. 5. If you are paying by cash, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS: Register on-line as if you are paying with credit or an e-check. When you get to the payment portion, click on the “Alternate Payment (CODE)” button. On the next page, type in cash payment (no capitals, no spaces), and in the comment area below that, type in CASH PAYMENT. You will then receive instructions on how to make a cash payment at Maine EAST or send them directly to the main entrance and then to the bookstore. Camp Fees Athletic camps have a mandatory fee for the availability of the certified athletic trainer integrated into the cost. This is for emergency situations and the safety of the athletes. All camp fees also include registration fees. PAYING WITH A BANK ROUTING & ACCOUNT NUMBER WILL SAVE FEES! Credit card transactions will have an additional fee, so use a checking/savings account to pay and save money if possible. Refunds Full refund of all fees will occur if a camp is cancelled. Full refund minus the processing fee ($15) will be granted if the refund is requested prior to the start date of the camp. NO REFUNDS CAN OR WILL BE GRANTED AFTER A CAMP HAS BEGUN . Fees for Individuals who Receive Free/Reduced Lunch (Minimum Camp Fee is $25.00) The camp fees for current high school students who qualified for Free Meals at Maine East in the 2021-22 (NOT INCOMING FRESHMEN) school term will be reduced by 50% of the athletic camp fee or $60 (whichever is less). The fee for current high school students who qualified for Reduced Meals at Maine East in the 2021-22 school term will be reduced by 25% of the athletic camp fee, or $30 (whichever is less). There will be no other reductions in the participation cost for students. This waiver only applies for current Maine East students. This waiver does not apply to incoming freshmen. The minimum fee for camps is $25 and no reduction can be made beyond that point. Those who qualify for fee reduction must register using the code word: fee2020 (case sensitive) in section 6 of the on-line registration process. Insurance Requirements Accident insurance must be provided by each participant to cover any and all injuries/accidents that may result from practice, competition, or any activity related to participation as part of this program. Please complete the insurance information/confirmation during registration. Student Accident Insurance is available for a small fee through the school as well. Summer Camp Registration Hotline – 847-803-5905 Please call this number and leave a message for any question regarding registration. Please contact camp COACH to find out if a camp will be canceled due to weather. The athletic office will not be able to provide this information. Camp dates will not be made up if they are canceled due to weather. Weather Cancellations Any cancellations/changes due to weather will be communicated through the coaches of the program and not through the hotline or athletic office. Weather – In the event of inclement weather camp will be cancelled and communicated via coaches Bring the following To Camp – Facial Coverings, Spikes, Bat (but not necessary), Glove, Hat, Baseball Pants/Sweats, Bottle(s) of Water/Drink, Hand Sanitizer COVID Restrictions: ● No assembling in dugouts without facial covering. ● All athletic equipment, including balls, will be cleaned intermittently during practices and contests. ● Athletic equipment such as bats, batting helmets and catchers gear will be cleaned between each use. ● All athletes and coaches will be screened for COVID prior to camp if still required by IDPH & IHSA.
