5 A Message from the President

Dear Fellow BANY Members, t is a pleasure to welcome new and continuing members to the Bus Association of New York’s 2014/2015 Membership Directory. BANY was founded in 1938 and today continues to be one of the leading state associations promoting motorcoach travel, safety and compliance as well as the interests of motorcoach companies and associates. As a member,I you have made a conscious business decision to be one of the industry leaders in the state of New York, giving you a leading edge over other non-member competitors. How does the association reach its members? BANY offers its membership up-to-date information on the industry within the state and elsewhere in our weekly “Friday Flash” e-mail message. Another great opportunity is the Annual Meeting and Marketplace, where you can network, attend seminars on pertinent issues and meet with associate members in a timed sales meeting. The 2014 event will take place October 26-28, at the Gideon Putnam Resort in Saratoga Springs, New York. This central location is easily accessible to members from around and outside the state. Leading topics, concerns and issues in the industry will once again be the association’s focus. And lastly, our Executive Director, Tammy St. Louis, as well as any of our board members, are only a phone call away for any questions or concerns that need to be addressed or researched. As BANY’s current president, my personal message to you is that any association is only as strong as the dedication of its members and chosen leadership. It will only be through all of our efforts that this association remains strong and able to pursue the interests of the industry through one voice – BANY. We also need to work with other leading national associations to keep our industry safe and in compliance. It is important that we keep informed of state and national legislative initiatives that can be positive for our members. At the same time, we must challenge the issues that are detrimental to our industry. It is my belief that BANY is the voice that can make all our operator and associate member companies more profitable. It has been my pleasure to serve as your president. As always, if I can be of any service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me at Eastern Travel/Oneonta Bus Lines. This membership directory offers a comprehensive list of members. BANY urges all of you to use fellow members for services, products, travel opportunities and even charter service. Thank you for being a BANY member. If you are interested in other leadership roles in the association, we are always looking for dedicated individuals to continue making the association’s voice strong and relevant in the industry. As strong as we are, there is still much to be done, more room for growth in membership, attaining more integrity in the industry and forming new alliances. Join me and the BANY Board of Directors and help make this possible.

Thank you – and welcome.
