The Barn Ceilidh attracted a large attendance and was a very successful event. Entertained by “Scotlands Minstrel” Alastair McDonald, a touch of nostalgia was brought to the evening with songs of yesteryear including Alastairs signature song “Sam the Skull” recorded in the 70's. The popularity of Ewan Archibalds Ceilidh Band was evident by the ever growing number of dancers taking to the floor. What seemed a never ending list of raffle prizes were drawn by Jack Pryde of Dunfermline Tours and Lilian Watson. The prizes were very varied with the most unusual being a trip for two in a light aircraft. A well stocked bar with friendly staff combined with an extremely generous buffet topped off the evening with many asking about future events. A great deal of work went into organising the event, not least the Health & Safety, Risk Assessment and Licensing aspects and our thanks go to Billy Pitt and his team for their work in ensuring the evening was a success.

Sponsorships We were fortunate indeed to have received sponsorships from so many businesses and organisations and thank all those who gave support. Our sponsors for the evening were:-

Dunmore Christmas Cards

The get together in the bowling club on Saturday 8th October was a great success with many people bringing along photographs. Many residents have ordered their own collection of cards and all proceeds will help increase the funds available for the village. Many thanks to Ian for his invaluable help in producing the cards.

It was suggested that a small calendar containing pictures of the village could be distributed to residents. It was agreed that Ian would look at whether this would be possible in time for A Dunmore Christmas Christmas.
