She further disclosed that available records show about 27.7% reduction in Malaria parasites in peoples’ blood as against more than 50% some years back. “So whereas in the past more than half people tested were carrying Malaria parasites in their blood, now it has reduced to about a quarter. We want to make sure that Ghana will be truly free from Malaria,” she added. According to the World Health Organization, nearly half of the world’s population are at risk of malaria.
