The Cedars-Sinai MICU is a 10-bed critical care facility that is fully STUDENT EXPERIENCES equipped for hemodynamic monitoring, dialysis, and respiratory support. Students are expected to be knowledgeable in , COMMON PROBLEMS/DISEASES , , and physiology and to have a major interest in the medical management of the critically ill. 1. Acid-based and electrolyte imbalance 9. 10. Acute myocardial infarction & failure

On-Call Schedule Students on this elective will be on call every third night and will participate during weekend rounds. Weekend Activities Students on this elective will be on call every third night and will participate during weekend rounds. Additional Comments/Special Requirements Each student will be assigned to a team consisting of a resident and an intern on-call every third night. The students will be under the supervision of full-time attendings and private . Daily work rounds are held with the attending and fellow in critical care medicine. Numerous consultants from the private and full-time attending staff are available. In addition, formal didactic conferences will be given four times weekly.
