Der Frontmann Robert Lowe ist kein Unbekannter TRACKLIST und desweiteren mittlerweile bei Tyrant, und ehemals auch bei Candlemass 01. Corridors und Solitude Aeturnus am Mikro aktiv gewesen. 02. Begleitet werden sie meist im 08. Misery Mongers Mid-Tempo-Bereich von einem herrlich stampfigen Schlagzeug und einer 09. Scorned Heart wabernden Bassgitarre, welche aber auch durchaus leise Töne und gekonnte Akzente setzen können. Der zackigste Song wurde definitiv mit "Our Poisonous Ways" geschaffen und ist nach etlichen Durchläufen auch mein Topfavorit geworden. Es wird bei LINEUP "10 Days (Of Disbelief)" sogar leicht balladesk. Dies ist der ruhigste Track auf Robert Lowe - Vocals der Platte, welcher aber kompositorisch nicht weniger gelungen ist als die Matt Johnson - Guitars, Bass restlichen Titel. Ein leichter und räumlicher Hall liegt über dem Sound, Brad Miller - Drums welcher aber nicht überreizt wurde und so die Fülle und Tiefe gut verstärkt. Fazit: Auch bei Grief Collector liegt die musikalische Nähe durch den Ex-Sänger von und zu Solitude Aeturnus und Konsorten auf der Hand, bzw. -

Magic-Circle-Festival 2008 in Bad Arolsen 9.-12.7.2008 Das SRND360 verfügt über 3 abgestimmte rechteckige Doppelmembrankapseln mit Nieren-Charakteristik und ein externes Verstärkerteil mit 6 Ausgängen für den direkten Abgriff der 5.0 / 5.1 / 6.0-Surround–Formate. B&R Medientechnik aus Kürten zeichnete sich für den Livemitschnitt verantwortlich. Das gesamte Festival wurde mit 2 Recording-Mobiles mitgeschnitten die vor allem auch für Surround-Recording ausgelegt sind und einige Bands nutzten diese einmalige Gelegenheit für einen Livemitschnitt in echter Surroundtechnik. Während vier Tagen traten in Bad Arolsen Metal Bands aus der ganzen Welt auf: MANOWAR, Alice Cooper, Whitesnake, Ted Nugent, Def Leppard, WASP, Doro, Gotthard, MSG Michael Schenker Group, HolyHell, Stormwarrior und Kobus… Nach dem grossen Erfolg des ersten Magic Circle Festivals 2007, entschloss sich MANOWAR Mastermind Joey De Maio , an 2 Abenden mir seiner Band aufzutreten und Ihre sechs ersten Alben komplett live zu spielen. Zum Jubiläum der 20jährigen Veröffentlichung des MANOWAR Albums “Kings Of Metal” wurde der gesamte Liveauftritt aufgezeichnet und zudem von einem klassischen Chor und Orchester begleitet. Dieser Livemitschnitt in true surround wird demnächst auch als DVD erhältlich sein. Über 35000 Besucher waren während der 4Tage auf diesem Festival der Superlative und erlebten die Liveperformance mit Pyro-, Light-Shows auf der riesigen 40 Meter-Bühne. Das MILAB SRND 360 wurde auf 5 Metern Höhe frei hängend, am 3-stöckigen FOH-Tower befestigt. Mit einem eigens dafür gefertigten Windschutz für den Ausseneinsatz bestückt, überzeugte das SRND 360 mit gleich bleibend hoher Übertragungsqualität ohne störende Windgeräusche . -
The Tasmanian Devil and Having Produced One of the Leaders of the Modern Death Metal Scene, Psycroptic
Tasmania is known for two things; the Tasmanian Devil and having produced one of the leaders of the modern death metal scene, Psycroptic. Since their formation in 1999, the band have constantly evolved and broken through the boundaries that the genre can sometimes impose upon itself. With the release of their seventh studio album, As The Kingdom Drowns, an album of riff-filled, technical ecstasy, Psycroptic just may have outdone the devil. Formed by brothers Dave and Joe Haley, Psycroptic have always lived in that very small space between technical and metal. The over the top insanity peaked with their sophomore album, 2006’s Symbols of Failure. From there the band looked to smooth things out a bit, whether it was with some ambience or industrial elements in 2008’s Ob(Servant) or focusing in on the groove on 2012’s, The Inherited Repression. 2015’s Psycroptic seemed to encompass all that the band had done, so where does one go from there? For the band, it was somewhat easy. The self-titled album gave the band a new and solid platform to launch off of, making experimentation easier. The hard part was where to go and just how far to take it. Singer, Jason Peppiatt comments, “As always with this band we wanted it to have the distinctive sound of a Psycroptic album but wanted to push ourselves further with adding new elements and having a darker vibe than on previous releases. I think we achieved our goal and this is something we are all very proud of!” D. -

I examine three significant roles – musicians, audiences, and mediators, and focus on the interaction between the localized Chinese metal scene and metal globalization. This thesis project uses multiple methods, including textual analysis, observation, surveys, and in-depth interviews. In this thesis, I illustrate an image of the Chinese metal scene, present the characteristics and the development of metal musicians, fans, and mediators in China, discuss their contributions to scene’s construction, and analyze various internal and external factors that influence the localization of metal in China. After that, I argue that the development and the localization of the metal scene in China goes through three stages, the emerging stage (1988-1996), the underground stage (1997-2005), the indie stage (2006-present), with Chinese characteristics. A pesar de la escasa presencia de la banda en los medios, continúa su popularidad. Más de un lector de esta columna me ha abordado en algunos conciertos para solicitarme que escriba sobre Cannibal Corpse, una agrupación estadounidense que en nuestro país goza de gran popularidad entre los seguidores del metal. De inicio, me parece conveniente ubicar la corriente sonora en la que la aludida banda se desempeña, es decir, el death metal, un estilo caracterizado por la utilización de las voces guturales (nombradas en inglés growls), de marcada aspereza al emitirse y con bastante frecuencia incomprensibles. A lo anterior, únese un tiempo muy abrupto, el empleo de una batería en extremo rápida y un discurso en lo textual donde prevalece el anticristianismo, mensajes en relación con la muerte, la violencia explícita, la necrofilia, prácticas satánicas, los asesinos en serie y visiones en general apocalípticas. El origen de la corriente resulta polémico, pero el término como tal se usa por vez primera en 1984, cuando el grupo californiano Possessed edita un demo denominado Death metal. Si una agrupación ha logrado que el death resulte conocido a escala mundial, sin la menor discusión esa es Cannibal Corpse. -
