  • We Are So Grateful for Your Partnership During These Challenging Times and Wanted to Let You Know About Changes We Are Making As a Result
We are so grateful for your partnership during these challenging times and wanted to let you know about changes we are making as a result. As you may know, Silversea is embracing Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.'s policy about suspending cruising in the United States. We are extending this cancellation to other ships around the world because we feel that with such uncertain times, we can't guarantee our usual Silversea standard of cruise excellence. As well, the health, safety and well-being of our guests and crew is our highest priority, always, and we believe it is important to do our part. In the spirit of keeping you informed, it's important to share with you that: Guests on voyages that are underway will conclude and they will be disembarked as soon as possible. We will assist them with travel arrangements home. We are in the process of advising travel advisors and our guests about the following cancellations: Impacted voyages are listed below: Silver Cloud Silver Cloud (E4200320018) Cape Town to Tema (Accra) scheduled to depart on March 20th. Silver Cloud (E4200407018) Tema (Accra) to Lisbon scheduled to depart on April 7th. Silver Wind Silver Wind (2010) Fort Lauderdale to Bridgetown scheduled to depart on March 16th. • Dry Docks Work to Start on “Silver Muse”
DRY DOCKS WORK TO START ON “SILVER MUSE” Trieste, 10 December 2015 – The keel laying ceremony of “Silver Muse”, the new ultra-luxury cruise ship which Fincantieri is building for Silversea Cruises, took place today at the shipyard in Sestri Ponente (Genova). The ceremony was attended for the shipowner, among others, by Enzo Visone, CEO of Silversea, while Fincantieri was represented by Raffaele Davassi, director of the shipyard. At 40,700 gross tonnes, able to accommodate 596 passengers on board, “Silver Muse” will represent an evolution of “Silver Spirit”, delivered in 2009 by Fincantieri in Ancona, redefining ultra- luxury ocean travel, always maintaining the small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodations that are the hallmarks of the Silversea experience. The delivery of the ship is scheduled in spring 2017. The newbuild will expand Silversea's fleet to 9 ships, and will once again significantly raise the bar in the ultra-luxury cruise market with a wealth of enhancements to the onboard experience, while satisfying the uncompromising requirements for comfort, service, and quality of the world's most discerning travellers. Fincantieri has built 70 cruise ships since 1990 (47 since 2002) and other 14 ships are currently being designed or built in the Group's yards. * * * Fincantieri is one of the world's largest shipbuilding groups and number one by diversification and presence in all high value-added market sectors, having built more than 7,000 vessels in over 230 years of its maritime history. It is world leader in cruise ship construction and a reference player in other sectors, from naval vessels to cruise ferries, from mega-yachts to special high value-added vessels, from ship repairs and conversions to offshore vessels.

  • Cruising: the Great Restart
May 2021 Edition Cruising: the Great Restart “Cruises will be the safest place on earth” - Frank Del Rio, President & CEO Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings PanacheCruises.com Elite Ocean, River, Expedition and Yacht-Style Cruising Dear Fellow Cruise Enthusiast, Cruising is restarting and Panache Cruises presents to you our aptly titled guide, Cruising: The Great Restart. In February this year we asked our customers when they thought international cruising would return, and 64% of them stated between July and September 2021. Well, it looks like they will be spot on with their prediction, as we envisage a number of cruise lines to be sailing internationally in July with many more to follow by September. With the UK vaccine rollout at an advanced stage along with Europe, the USA, and other parts of the world making significant progress too, the cruise world is on the cusp of restarting, slowly but surely. It’s truly an exciting time for everyone associated with the cruise industry. The UK’s traffic light system is also up and running, which over time will see more and more destinations opening up to tourism. Of course, don’t be discouraged by some of your favourite cruising destinations being on the ‘amber’ list for now - all of that is likely to change in a matter of weeks as they are given the ‘green light’, giving travellers the confidence to resume exploring the world. Cruise lines have worked extremely hard to ensure that “cruises will be the safest place on earth” according to Norwegian Cruise Line’s Frank Del Rio.

  • Backgrounder
BACKGROUNDER Silversea is a luxury cruise company reflec3ng genera3ons of mari3me and travel experience. In the early 1990s, the Lefebvre family of Rome, former owners of Sitmar Cruises, conceived and organised a unique cruise company pledging to build and operate the highest quality ships in the ultra-luxury segment. The name "Silversea" was chosen because it connotes quality and luxury as well as capturing the romance and special sensa3ons of the sea. Silversea launched its first ship, Silver Cloud, in 1994, followed by Silver Wind in 1995, Silver Shadow in 2000, and Silver Whisper in 2001. The fleet was purpose-built for the ultra-luxury market, establishing a new class of smaller, in3mate vessels that could slip into more exo3c ports off the beaten path. These elite vessels were specifically designed for fewer guests, with more space and the highest levels of personalised service, delivered by mainly Italian and other European officers overseeing an interna3onal staff. In December 2009 Silversea took delivery of its next genera3on of ultra-luxury vessel, Silver Spirit. At 36,000 grosse tonnes (gr)t, and accommoda3ng just 540 guests, this in3mate ship has spacious suites— with 95% featuring a private veranda—and one of the highest space-to-guest ra3os at sea today. The onboard decor lends a sophis3cated 1930s Art Deco ambience to the public spaces, highlights of which include an indoor/outdoor spa measuring over 8,300 square feet (770 square metres), a resort-style pool, four whirlpools, and a choice of six dining venues including Seishin, showcasing Asian-fusion cuisine, and the innova3ve Stars Supper Club, offering trendseng menus and all-night entertainment.

  • Silversea Cruises Ann...Sister Ship to Be Built by Fincantieri
SILVERSEA CRUISES ANNOUNCES A NEW SISTER SHIP TO BE BUILT BY FINCANTIERI The cruise line orders one sister ship of Silver Muse Expected to be delivered in 2020 (Monte Carlo, Monaco – September 13, 2017) Silversea Cruises and Fincantieri have announced the signing of a contract worth approximately 310 million euros for the construction of a new ultra-luxury cruise ship. The ship is due to join the Silversea fleet in 2020. The new ship, tentatively named Silver Moon, will be the sister ship of Silver Muse which was delivered in April 2017 at the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente (Genoa). At 40,700 gross tons and with a capacity to accommodate 596 passengers on board, Silver Moon will maintain the small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodation, which is the hallmark of the Silversea experience. The new build will expand Silversea's fleet to 10 ships and will significantly raise the bar in the ultra-luxury segment with a wealth of enhancements to the on board experience while satisfying the uncompromising requirements for comfort, service and quality of the world's most discerning travellers. Among the highlights of the new ship, the “Green Star 3 Design” will be a stand out feature. It is assigned to ships that are designed, built and equipped in order to prevent air and water pollution. Furthermore, the “COMF-NOISE A PAX” and “COMF-NOISE B CREW” are assigned on the basis of the noise levels measured on the ship. Results have shown that new-builds assigned these standards offer the very best levels of comfort to guests on board.
