West Sussex Road Closures WEST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS PARISHES: VARIOUS ROADS) (MICRO ASPHALT PROGRAMME) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2012 WEST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as the local traffic authority and in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 14 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and all other enabling powers hereby makes the following order: 1. This Order shall come into operation on 7 September 2012 and may be cited as the West Sussex County Council (Various Roads: Various Parishes) (Micro Asphalt Programme) (Temporary Closure) Order 2012. 2. Due to works being carried out on or near a road, traffic on the roads specified in the schedule to this Order should be restricted. 3. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to be driven on the length of road specified in the schedule to this Order. 4. Nothing in Article 3 shall apply to a vehicle being used in connection with works associated with laying asphalt on the affected roads or to vehicles proceeding on these lengths of roads by arrangement with those carrying out those works. The successful parish councils would now work with their contractor of choice to deliver the works. Bolney Parish Council, which had been unsuccessful, was currently revising its application prior to resubmission. 63. The Principal Community Officer provided members with updates for currently progressing TROs in the CLC area in advance of setting Traffic Regulation Order priorities at the Committee’s next meeting. He also informed members that across the county a number of school safety zones were currently unenforceable and that officers were currently consulting on how these TROs would be delivered.     DESIGN AND ACCESS STATEMENT Cannonberries Poynings Road Fulking Henfield West Sussex BN5 9NB The property Cannonberries is a large detached dwelling set on a large plot to the south of Poynings Road. The property is to the outside of the settlement boundary of the village of Fulking and within the South Downs National Park. The application site is open on the southern and eastern sides. To the north and west are hedge boundaries with the road and The Dales. The site is generally level albeit there is a gentle downward slope from east to west. The site is visible from a number of vantage points along the South Downs Way, given that it lies close to the foot of the scarp slope. The property itself has a rear concealed ‘courtyard’ where a swimming pool is sited, the courtyard and pool are well screened with hedging and planting, There are no views to this private courtyard area from the south downs way or neighbouring properties. PROPOSAL The proposed application is to enclose the existing swimming pool, the existing pool is 7.1 in width (at its widest point) and 13.3m in length. The pool is surrounded by a paved patio area with a high hedge to the west, hedging and planting to the south, the property and an outbuilding screen the north and east. Due to health reasons the applicant has been encouraged to use the pool more often however the pool is difficult to heat, clean and maintain.
