A CRATAEGUS GENUS FAJAI ÉS ÖKONÓMIAI-BOTANIKAI ÉRTÉKELÉSÜK SURÁNYI DEZSŐ NAIK-MKSZN 2700 Cegléd, Pf. 33. Summary The species of the Crataegus in Eurasia 53–30th and in North America at 60-28th latitude degrees. According to ICBN, there are about 200 species belonging to the genus, which includes the study of 58 Eurasian and 64 North American species and hybrid economical and botanical analyses. The author deals with the pomology of the species, which can help increase of the fruit consumption. True, hawthorn species have no nutritional role in our country, or they have had a significant role in period of gathering. However, looking at foreign species, it turned out that French, Chinese, Amur and Eastern, toward Mexican, Missouri and Molly hawthorn are important fruits mostly in the area. But some species have become perspectives in remote areas (southern states of USA, the Mediterranean, Iran, South-East-China, South-Korea). The hawthorn is used in fresh fruit, jellies, jam, ivory, fruit cheese, alcoholic beverages or fillings. Of course, the role of the genus species is much wider: shrubs, soil protection, ornamental plants, medicine raw materials, and growth of life communities. Not to mention the ethnographic and sacral importance of the hawks, they are also of value. Krüssmann 1978). A nemzetségbe tartozó fajok száma – szinte a szerzők szempontjai szerint változik, ugyanis nagyban függ a taxonómiai értelmezésüktől. Egyes botanikusok a múltban ezer vagy még több fajt ismertek el önállónak (PALMER 1925), amelyek közül sok apomiktikus mikro-típus. -

Cambridge University Press 978-0-521-70772-5 - New Flora of the British Isles, Third Edition Clive Stace Frontmatter More information Since its first publication in 1991, New Flora of the British Isles has become established as the standard work on the identification of the wild vascular plants of the British Isles. The Flora remains unique in many features, including its full coverage of all British wild plants, its user-friendly organisa- tion, and its specially compiled keys and descriptions. All native, naturalised and crop plants, and all casual plants recorded five or more times since 1930, are included. In the twelve years since the appearance of the Second Edition, many new data and ideas relating to British wild flora have become available. More than 160 species have been added to the text, so that 4800 taxa are now covered in varying degrees of detail. This is the first British Flora to incorporate the new molecular system of classification based on DNA sequences, a scheme that is expected to endure for centuries to come. The whole text has been updated and new features have been introduced. All the line-drawings and half-tones have been re-assessed and enhanced, and new ones have been added, so that now over 1600 species are illustrated on 180 pages. The distributions of all the taxa have been rewritten and there has been an overhaul of the designation of degrees of rarity, with the introduction of a third, less rare, category. These revisions should ensure that this Third Edition remains the essential reference source for all taxonomists, ecologists, conservationists, plant hunters and biogeographers, whether they be researchers, teachers, students or amateurs. -

Yıl (Beşevler) Campus. As a result of the study, a total of 445 taxa belonging to 281 genera from 79 different families were determined. From Gymnospermae subdivision, 31 taxa belong to 14 genera of 5 families were determined. From Angiospermae subdivision, 57 taxa from 10 families belong to Monocotyl group, 356 taxa from 63 families belong to Eudicot groups, and 1 taxa from 1 family (Nymphaceae) Non-Eudicot basal group were determined. The eight of the determined 445 taxa are endemic for Turkey with the ratio of 1,8%. In addition, 151 of the taxa in the campus area are woody (trees or shrubs) and the remaining 294 taxa are annual or perennial herbaceous plants. In addition, 266 of the taxa in the campus area grow naturally, but the remaining 179 taxa are not natural (plantation or cultivation). The influence of alien tree species on ecosystems is unevenly recognized and does not always account for different habitat specificity. We assessed the impacts of the three most frequent invasive tree species in European forests: Prunus serotina Ehrh., Quercus rubra L., and Robinia pseudoacacia L. on natural regeneration diversity, species composition, and density. We hypothesized that invaded forest types, in comparison with non-invaded, will differ in terms of species composition, will have lower taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic diversity of natural regeneration, and will have lower densities of native tree species. We used a set of 189 study plots (200 m2) in a systematic design, established in various forest types in Wielkopolski National Park (West Poland). We analyzed impacts of forest type, accounting for soil C:N ratio, soil pH, and light availability on natural regeneration (woody species up to 0.5 m height) species composition, diversity, and density. We found an overlap of species composition among invaded and non-invaded forests and low impacts of invasive species on taxonomic diversity and functional richness.
