Bermuda Football Association Congratulates Outstanding Players, Coaches, Teams and Officials from 2016-2017 Season BERMUDA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION P O Box HM 745 Hamilton HM CX Tel: 441-295-2199 Fax: 441-295-0773 www.bermudafa.com FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BERMUDA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION CONGRATULATES OUTSTANDING PLAYERS, COACHES, TEAMS AND OFFICIALS FROM 2016-2017 SEASON Hamilton, Bermuda – April 18, 2017 – The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) congratulates and recognizes the outstanding season that all Nominees for individual awards had during the just concluded 2016-2017 Premier and First Division Seasons. Players and Coaches were nominated by their Clubs with nominations falling under five categories; Most Valuable Player, Best Defensive Player, Best Young Player, Best Goalkeeper and Coach of the Year. The categories and list of Nominees under each category can be seen below. The finalists for each category, highlighted with an asterisk by their name, were chosen by the Coaches of the opposing teams within their respective Divisions. In addition to the aforementioned, awards will be given out for The Fair Play Team of the Year and Highest Goal Scorer in each Division. The Fair Play Team of the Year is the Team in each Division with the least amount of penalty points for the Season. The BFA will also honor the Referee and Young Referee of the Year. All winners will be announced at the BFA's Annual Awards Ceremony which will be taking place at 7:00 p.m. this Saturday, April 22nd at the Cedarbridge Academy Cafetorium. Key note speaker will be Victor Montagliani, President of CONCACAF. Tickets are $30.00 and can be purchased from the BFA Office.     Welcome to the Congress To our Member Associations’ Presidents, Delegates and Guests, We begin this welcome letter for our 34th Concacaf Ordinary Congress with a great sense of pride about Concacaf. As we look back on last year — in fact, the last three years since our administration took office — it is remarkable how much our organization has accomplished on our journey to move football forward throughout the region. We are ONE family that works within a culture defined by a love for our game, with ONE mutual goal of becoming champions, on and off the field. Guided by our brand pillars of Unity, Football, Quality and Access, we continue to make excellent progress in the execution of our regional strategy. As a result, we are happy to report on another record year for our Confederation. First, from a competition standpoint, we have seen the introduction and expansion of tournaments aimed at raising the quality of Concacaf’s football, while creating more access to all of the game’s stakeholders. • There is tremendous pride in the launch of the Concacaf Nations League. When we see the results and emotions from our federation’s presidents, coaches, players, fans and the media, we can already perceive how our joint efforts are generating benefits of increased competition and development for the Confederation as a whole. • The expansion of the Concacaf Gold Cup, from 12 to 16 nations, is another signature achievement. More importantly, for the first time in the 15 editions of the competition, we are bringing our top national team championship to a Caribbean and Central American pitch.

    STATUTES, RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE BERMUDA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION CONSTITUTION CHAPTER 1 GENERAL PROVISIONS 1. NAME Pursuant to an Act of the Bermuda Parliament, No. 256 of 8/6/70, the Bermuda Football Association Act 1970 (the Act) the Bermuda Football Association (“BFA”) shall be hereinafter called the Association. 2. OBJECTS The Objects of the Association shall be:- (a) To encourage the game of Football in Bermuda as determined by the statutes of FIFA; (b) To promote the game of football in every way in which the Association shall think proper, and to take all such steps as shall be deemed necessary or advisable for preventing infringements of the Rules and Laws of the Game, or other improper practices in the game, and for protecting it from abuse; (c) To make, adopt, vary and publish Rules, Regulations and Bye-Laws and conditions for the proper regulation of the Game, and to vary or revoke the same and to take such steps as may be deemed necessary for the enforcement of such Rules, Regulations, Bye-Laws and conditions; (d) To make rules concerning eligibility for membership in the Association and to vary or revoke the same and to take such steps as may be necessary for the enforcement of such rules; (e) To hold membership in the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) and the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) and to abide by its Rules and Regulations. (f) To lend or invest any monies of the association in such manner as shall be approved by the Council and to borrow money on such security as the Council may determine and particularly, but not so as to limit the generality of the foregoing, by mortgaging or changing all or any property of the Association; (g) To make such representation to the Government of these Islands or any department thereof as the association may from time to time consider it proper.

    Press Release 29 May 2014 | Kingston, Jamaica Three Teams Withdraw From Women’s CFU Cup The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) continues in its quest to successfully stage the inaugural Women’s Caribbean Cup despite the withdrawal of some teams. Due to varying reasons Dominica, Guadeloupe and Anguilla have all withdrawn from the competition. Dominica was the first team to announce their non-participation in Group 2 due to some members no receiving their United States Visa in time. This disappointment was compounded by the subsequent withdrawal of Guadeloupe in Group 4 who pulled out because of most of their players exhibiting symptoms of the Chikungunya Virus. The Anguilla Football Association informed the CFU that due to health issues being experienced by some of the players they would not be as to field a team in the tournament. The CFU is disheartened by these circumstances but understands the need for teams to make decisions that are in the best interest of their players and the larger regional football fraternity. Notwithstanding, while the withdrawals are disappointing, they have not affected the overall staging of the tournament which will be continuing with Group 5 in the Dominican Republic from 16 - 23 June 2014. ### About CFU CFU “Caribbean Football Union” is one of three Unions in CONCACAF (The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football) and serves as the governing body of football in the Caribbean.
