People in Yoxford Survey 2017 expressed most concern about traffic in the village. The proposed roundabout will result in standing idling vehicles from the North, South and West with increased flow from N at Darsham P&R ( buses, workers' cars adding to daily load), returning traffic from site along B1122 and the arriving N bound load from Saxmundham and Wickham Market P&R being joined by stacking traffic along A1120 in Yoxford village waiting to turn N andS onto A12. 12-15 years of 700 HGV and 400 LGV movements will cause increased particulate matter from idling vehicles waiting at these junctions. The 2011 Suffolk CC report and the 2017 Suffolk Council reports both mention high rates of PM at queuing for the petrol station at Stratford St Andrew. This measured phenomenon will be apparent in increased severity and concentration at Yoxford if the roundabout is constructed. introducing this health hazard to the residents - some elderly, some children en route to school, will result over the years of the proposed construction in diminished lung health ( asthma, COPD) and brain and heart function. You will no doubt have read of the first recorded death from pollution being that of 9 year old Ella Kissidebra in London last year.. This is a canary in a coal mine moment fore us here. Introducing a 15 year long deliberate increase in PM without an EIA from the proposer of this build would seem to be a cruel and damaging step not only to us in Yoxford but also to people in the East Suffolk area.

We would again like to thank everyone who has supported us during the dark days of winter by buying takeaways, it's kept the business ticking over and almost as importantly has kept Lorna and me sane! The good news is that we will continue with the takeaways until we are able to seat customers indoors. The road map at the time of going to print suggests that date will be Monday 17th May. Although we will be allowed to open and customers able to sit outside from 12th April, due to the unpredictable British weather, we don't really feel this is a viable option for us. Having said that, if it's a glorious spring day between those dates, then do give us a call as we would love to open on the odd day for drinks and light lunches if possible. 14 Rolling Estate Claylands EP/Edit1/02.08.10 Rolling Estate Claylands Key Characteristics • Rolling valley-side landscape • Medium clay and loamy soils • Organic pattern of fields • Occasional areas of more rational planned fields • Numerous landscape parks • Substantial villages • Fragmented woodland cover, both ancient and plantation • Winding hedged and occasionally sunken lanes Location This landscape character type occurs in east Suffolk as linear bands in the middle reaches of the valleys of these rivers: • The Yox from Sibton eastward to Theberton • The Fromus around Kelsale and Carlton • The Alde around the Glemhams • The Ore from Parham eastward to Blaxhall • The Deben from Brandeston south-eastwards to Easton and Glevering Geology, landform and soils This landscape, on the eastern edge of the central Suffolk clay plateau, consists of gently sloping valley sides and plateau fringes. Its soils range from occasionally waterlogged clays to sandy loams overlying glacial till and other glacial outwash materials. In most cases the valley heads have the heaviest soils, becoming lighter and occasionally gravely in the lower reaches. Landholding and enclosure pattern The field patterns are slightly organic in appearance, but with a tendency to a co-axial arrangement with the principal axes at right angles to the rivers. In the lower reaches there can be more planned-looking landscapes resulting from late enclosure or estate-inspired reorganisation. The soils are generally well-drained, so greens are infrequent, but there are examples at Middleton Moor and the former Carlton Green and Curlew Green in Kelsale.
