He greatly supported me as I prepared the section in this dissertation on Old Iranian languages. The death of this unbelievably talented person was a great loss for all the colleagues and students in the Asien-Afrika-Institut at the University of Hamburg. Peter Keil very kindly translated for me ten articles from French into German (Jean Kellens 2006; Jerzy Kuryłowicz 1952 and 1972; Gilbert Lazard 1984, 1985, and 1990; Antonie Meillet 1900 and 1925; Eric Pirart 2004; Hermann Trödel 1874). His work, which was supervised partly by Carsten Bettermann, was not only a big help for me, it was and will continue to be also of great benefit to Iranian studies in Germany. VI In 2009, I travelled with Professor Kreyenbroek, and then later alone in 2011, to do fieldwork in Iraqi Kurdistan for the project ―Documentation of Gorani, an endangered language of West Iran‖, which was funded by the Volkswagen Foundation‘s DoBeS (Dokumentation bedrohter Sprachen) program from 2007 to 2012. In conjunction with these field trips, the map for where Gūrānī speakers live was prepared (see page 6). While on those trips, I received help from Muħammad Malā Ħasan (Mayor of Khanaqīn), Ebrāhīm Bāǰałān, Bahman Ħamīd Feyzullāh Bēwyānī (leader of the tribe of Bēwyānī), Naǰm Aħmad Bāǰałān (an employee of the Red Crescent) and Rizgār Miħamad Maħmud (an employee of the television station Nawroz in Kirkuk). Kurdish dialects are used across five nation states in the Middle East and only one, Sorani, has official status in one of them. The study employs the ‘draw-a-map task’ established in Perceptual Dialectology; the analysis is supported by Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The results show that, despite the geolinguistic and geopolitical situation, Kurdish respondents have good knowledge of the main varieties of their language (Kurmanji, Sorani and the related variety Zazaki) and where to localize them. Awareness of the more diverse Southern Kurdish varieties is less definitive. This indicates that the Kurdish language plays a role in identity formation, but also that smaller isolated varieties are not only endangered in terms of speakers, but also in terms of their representations in Kurds’ mental maps of the linguistic landscape they live in.     Country Policy and Information Note Iraq: Blood feuds Version 1.0 August 2017 Preface This note provides country of origin information (COI) and policy guidance to Home Office decision makers on handling particular types of protection and human rights claims. This includes whether claims are likely to justify the granting of asylum, humanitarian protection or discretionary leave and whether – in the event of a claim being refused – it is likely to be certifiable as ‘clearly unfounded’ under s94 of the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002. Bu dönem Zerdü şt’ten önceki İran’ın tanrı tasavvurlarının yeniden kutsal metne yani Avesta’ya dahil edilme sürecini yansıtmaktadır. Dolayısıyla Avesta edebiyatı Zerdü şt sonrası dönü şen bir teolojiyi sunmaktadır. We aimed to figure out the frequency of ticks on cows, goats, sheep, lambs, turtles and also obscure hosts in Kurdistan Province, bordered with Iraq June 2012 to May 2013. Methods: The hosts were selected randomly and examined individually for tick infestation. In case of infestation, ticks were collected using forceps and then preserved in 70% ethyl alcohol. All collected specimens were preserved in tubes and relative information was recorded and then identified based on morphological characteristics. Results: Totally, 1209 ticks were collected.

    Message froM PRESIDENT Dear Rotaractors, Warm Rotaract Greetings from Rotaract Club of Thane North (RID 3142- India) We are glad sharing an editorial space with you and find great pleasure introducing the Traditional attire of our country. As you know India is a diverse country and has 29 states and 7 union territories. Every state has their own diverse language and traditional attire. We even have diversity in religion maximum people following Hinduism and the rest being Islam, Christianity and Sikhism; leave aside the other tribes which have their own traditional attire. Living in such a diversified country it is difficult to write about the entire traditional clothing, but here I will just try giving you a glimpse of the same. For men, traditional clothes are the Achkan/Sherwani, Bandhgala, Lungi, Kurta, Angarkha, Jama and Dhoti or Pajama. Additionally, recently pants and shirts have been accepted as traditional Indian dress by the Government of India. In India, women's clothing varies widely and is closely associated with the local culture, religion and climate. Traditional Indian clothing for women in the north and east are saris worn with choli tops; a long skirt called a lehenga or pavada worn with choli and a dupatta scarf to create an ensemble called a gagra choli; or salwar kameez suits, while many south Indian women traditionally wear sari and children wear pattu langa. Saris made out of silk are considered the most elegant. Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, is one of India's fashion capitals. In many rural parts of India, traditional clothes is worn.
