In June of 1957, she married William and together they lived on his farm at Golden Prairie until 1983, when they moved to Medicine Hat. In her younger days, she enjoyed sports especially curling and bowling. She served as a volunteer at the Medicine Hat Hospital Gift Shop and was a member of the United Church in Golden Prairie and later Westminster United Church in Medicine Hat. As another pastime, she enrolled in organ lessons and practised playing hymns and old country songs. She looked forward to coffee time with her numerous friends. Throughout her life, she enjoyed and had a special love for children. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Grace (Harry) Lightfoot and two brothers, Errol (Lily) Cochrane and Robert Cochrane.
