Further three eriophyoid species were recorded for the first time in Hungary, viz. Aceria hippophaena (Nalepa, 1898) found on Hippophaë rhamnoides, Epitrimerus cupressi (Keifer, 1939) collected from Cupressus sempervirens and Epitrimerus tanaceti Boczek et Davis, 1984 associated with Tanacetum vulgare. The female of E. tanaceti is re-described, while the male and nymph are described for the first time. Keywords: Eriophyidae, Leipothrix, common zinnia, Asteraceae, Hungary. The large family Asteraceae (Compositae) contains 1,911 plant genera with 32,913 accepted species names (The Plant List, 2013). Representatives of the family Asteraceae are a dominant feature of the Hungarian flora with 267 recognised species. According to Király (2009) it amounts to 9.8% of the current vascular plants of Hungary. An ex- traordinary range of eriophyoids occupy the plants of this family.

The mite fauna from ‘Jóia 4’, ‘Ouromel 3’, ‘Regis’ and ‘Rei da conserva’ cultivars over the rootstock Okinawa were determined from December 2002 to February 2006. Samples composed by 72 leaves were collected fortnightly from upper, middle and lower third of each tree and four trees per cultivar.

[email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] RESUMEN. Diversity of spiders in Quevedo Island, Sinaloa, Mexico ABSTRACT. Main objective of this study was to evaluate the diversity of spiders at Protected Natural Area Quevedo Island. A comparative study of richness and abundance of Araneae order was made in 3 types of vegetation: thorn scrub, mangroves and dunes.

Ramani2 1Research scholar, Division of Acarology, Department of Zoology, University of Calicut, 673635, India 2Professor Division of Acarology, Department of Zoology, University of Calicut, 673635, India Abstract: Aceria doctersi is a highly host specific phytophagous eriophyid mite, infesting and inducing varying numbers of pouched galls on the leaves, leaf petioles, inflorescence and the young shoots of Cinnamomum verum, one of the most economically important spice and medicinal crop. Gall formation by A. doctersi adversely affects the quality of the leaves, thereby reducing the economic utility of the plant. The present study discusses the seasonal impact on the population density of the gall mite, A. doctersi within the leaf galls of C. verum, carried out in the Calicut University Campus, Malappuram Dt., Kerala from January, 2012 to December, 2012. The impact of temperature and humidity could be positively correlated with the population density of the mite within the leaf galls (r = 0.58, r = 0.237) whereas rainfall exerted a negative correlation (r = - 0.182). The study also sheds light on percentage of damage, relationship between size of the galls and mite population density. Keywords: Aceria doctersi, Eriophyid mites, leaf galls, Cinnamomum verum, population density. 1. ACARINES, 8(2):1-8, 2014 Four New Records of Eriophyids and Associated Phytoseiids from Egypt A. S. Elhalawany*; A. S. Sanad* and X. F. Xue** *Plant Prot. Res. Inst., Agri. Res. Center, Dokki, Giza, Egypt. **Department of Entomology, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing, Jiangsu, P. R. China. ABSTRACT The present study reports four new records of eriophyid mites collected from Egypt during 2012 to 2015. Cecidophyopsis rosmarinusis Wang & Elhalawany, 2014 was on Rosmarinus officinalis L. (Lamiaceae); Stenacis palomaris Keifer, 1970 was on Salix babylonica L. and S. matsudana Thunb (Salicaceae); Epitrimerus saudiarabis Wang & Elhalawany, 2014 was on Phoenix dactylifera L. (Arecaceae); Epitrimerus cupressi Keifer, 1939 was on Cupressus sempervirens L. (Cupressaceae). The genera Cecidophyopsis and Stenacis are new records for Egyptian fauna. These species are vagrants on leaves without any damage except the second species (S. palomaris) which causes witches' broom of terminal twigs of the host plant. Illustrations of the four species are provided. Three phytoseiid mite species (i.e. Amblyseius swirskii Athias-Henriot, Cydnoseius negevi (Swirski &Amitai), Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) athiasae Porath &Swirski (Acari: Phytoseiidae)), were found in association with the recorded eriophyid mites on the mentioned host plants during this survey. Abstract Nayarit is the main producer of soursop (Annona muricata L.) worldwide. Among the main limitations for production are mites, so, in order to know the population fluctuation of the eriophyid Acerio annonae (Keifer) between February and December 2016, periodic sampling was done every 30 days in three municipalities and four localities: Compostela (Altavista and El Divisadero), Xalisco (San Antonio) and Tepic (El Trapichillo). For the samplings, 10 trees were considered by location, randomly selected; each tree was divided into five sampling areas, one per cardinal point, with one leaf (sample) per area, also randomly selected, for a total of 50 samples per location. The samples were taken to the agricultural parasitology laboratory of the Agricultural Academic Unit at the Autonomous University of Nayarit, where the total number of adults and adults per sheet was periodically quantified from each locality.
