I am directed by the Secretary of State to say that consideration has been given to the report of the Inspector, Paul K Jackson BArch (Hons) RIBA, who held a public local inquiry which opened on 4 November 2014 into your client’s appeal against the decision of Bolsover District Council (the Council) to refuse planning permission for a windfarm comprising 6 wind turbines, control building, anemometer mast and associated access tracks on a site approximately 2.5km south of Bolsover between the villages of Palterton and Shirebrook, in accordance with application reference 12/00159/FULEA, dated 25 April 2012. 2. On 20 June 2014 the appeal was recovered for the Secretary of State's determination, in pursuance of section 79 of and paragraph 3 of Schedule 6 to the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, because it involves a renewable energy development. Inspector’s recommendation and summary of the decision 3. The Inspector recommended that the appeal be dismissed and planning permission refused. For the reasons given below, the Secretary of State agrees with the Inspector’s conclusions except where indicated otherwise, and agrees with his recommendation.   • The Five Pits Trail
    The Five Pits Trail Walkers, cyclists and horse riders can all enjoy the countryside of the Five Pits Trail. Follow the 5.5 mile off-road surfaced route from Grassmoor Country Park to Tibshelf Ponds or extend your route to 7.5 miles by exploring the route through Williamthorpe Ponds and Holmewood Woodlands. The trail mostly follows the route of the Great Central Railway. Since the large collieries and smaller pits along the railway closed, the landscape has changed dramatically. Parts of the land were opencast and Holmewood Sculpture Funded by the Young Roots Heritage Lottery Fund, students from most of the original railway line removed. Deincourt School worked with artists from Gotham-D to design this sculpture. Using metal, stone and wood, the sculpture shows leaves and keys (seeds) and takes its inspiration from both the Now you will find a rolling trail that has some long steep slopes. This may limit some people's access in places - look for natural and industrial heritage of the area. the 'steep slope' symbols on the map. There are no stiles or steps and you will find seats along the way to stop, rest and enjoy the views. Look out for the information boards with large site maps showing some of the heritage and wildlife along the trail. Mansfield Road Walking Routes Williamthorpe Walkers can explore the surrounding landscape on Public Rights of Way by following one of the Five Ponds Pits Trail Circular Walks. These walks are between 2.5 and 5.5 miles in length and each walk is waymarked This network of ponds, with a coloured disc.

    Feeding Derbyshire Healthy Holidays Programme October Half-Term 2020 Report Introduction Feeding Derbyshire worked with 15 independent Healthy Holidays Clubs across all districts of Derbyshire. 14 have submitted their feedback to date. As in the Summer Holidays, we made a universal offer to the holiday clubs, providing food and take-home activities to children living within the areas they served. Club organisers ensured that vulnerable families and those on Free School Meals were made aware of and signed up to the programme. School Holiday Clubs supported All of the 15 Holiday Clubs opted to receive a Fareshare subscription. This October, the FareShare offer that Feeding Derbyshire subscribed to consisted of three days’ supply of food for each week that a child attended the holiday club. This included: 6 pieces of fruit for each child Breakfast products Lunch making ingredients Hot meal ingredients Locations served by the School Holiday Clubs Heanor, Langley Mill, Loscoe, Langley, Amber Valley Riddings, Amber Valley Hurst Farm, Matlock, Derbyshire Dales Kirk Hallam, Erewash Long Eaton, Sawley and Sandiacre, Erewash Rother Ward Chesterfield Staveley, Barrow Hill, Poolsbrook, Hollingwood, Mastin Moor, Duckmanton , Inkersall, Chesterfield. Grassmoor, NE Derbyshire Holmewood and Heath, NE Derbyshire Creswell, Bolsover Doe Lea, Bolsover Buxton, High Peak Swadlincote, South Derbyshire Volume of Food Supplied. FareShare have confirmed that 10.5 tonnes of food was distributed to the 15 School Holiday Clubs taking part in the Healthy Holidays programme over the October half-term. The Council took on an obligation to provide similar facilities were they to relocate, which they did, to Clowne. Bolsover District Council has already paid Derbyshire Police a sum to relocate from their council offices to temporary accommodation and to then move into a more permanent solution at Oxcroft House. This coincided with the force’s strategic policing review so the Chief Constable and Commissioner decided that it would be inappropriate to commit to a further long lease of Oxcroft House as it may not meet the new needs of the force going forward. Considerable costs had already been incurred by Bolsover District Council in developing this scheme. Bolsover District Council have demonstrated that they have incurred costs to date (supported by documentary evidence); the Constabulary are still holding removal monies for which there is no justification. Decision Resolved that the Commissioner agrees to pay compensation to Bolsover District Council as set out within their claim and as detailed in the confidential report.
