Article & photos by Brian Maloney I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend a day. A beautiful summer morning drive through northern Illinois farm country - on the way to an estate auction filled with treasures from antique clocks and furniture to some choice period jukeboxes. That’s how I spent August 10th, date of a great Bearrows Real Estate & Auction Company sale. A good-sized crowd turned out for the auction, held to disperse the lifetime accumulation of Betty Linnemeier. There was something for everyone there - with some great buys and a few surprises thrown in too. The estate’s 1960s ranch-style home needed a little TLC, and sold for a solid $89,000.

It took an $800 bid to win this Pace Jak Pot ten-cent slot machine in good original The day’s condition.
