Abstract: Riparian flora is an expressed survey to analyze marginal vegetation of river zones. The present study was conducted in Thamiraparani river of Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu, India. Result of the current study showed a total of, 720 species of angiosperms belonging to 449 genera under 126 families of these 76.5% were dicots and 23.5% of monocots were recorded.Habitually 30.4% herbs , 26.7% trees, 15.7% shrubs, 6.9% climbing shrubs, 5.2% perennial herbs, 3.3% annual herbs, 2 % twining herbs, 1.7% twining shrubs, 1.6% aquatic herbs, 1.3% climbing herbs, 0.6% rhizomatous herbs, 0.7% marshy herbs, 0.7% tunerous herbs, 0.6% lianas, 0.4% tuberous climbing herbs, 0.4% stragglinbg shrubs, 0.3% climbers, 0.3% climbing palms, 0.3% prostrate herbs, climbing shrub, creeping herb, epiphytic herb, parasitic shrub and parasitic twining herb were 0.1% . -

D. Kravchenko, M. Fibiger, J. Mooser, A. Junnila & G. C. Müller Abstract In Israel, 20 species of tribe Apameini belonging to 10 genera have been found to date. Four species are endemic of the Levant (Sesamia ilonae, Luperina kravchenkoi, Gortyna gyulaii and Lenisa wiltshirei). Others are mostly Palaearctic, Mediterranean, Iranian and Irano-Turanian elements. Grassland species of the Apameini are mainly associated with the Temperate region and are univoltine with highest rate of occurrence in May, or in autumn. Most wetland and oases species are multivoltine and occur in oases and riverbeds over the country, though few of the species are extremely localized. The S. ilonae is presently known only from northern area of the Sea of Galilee, while A. deserticola is from oases of the Dead Sea area. -

Florida Golden Aster Chrysopsis (=Heterotheca) floridana Small he Florida golden aster is a perennial herb in the Federal Status: Endangered (May 16, 1986) aster family with a distribution limited to a few Critical Habitat: None Designated Tcounties in west-central Florida. The Florida golden Florida Status: Endangered aster occurs in sand pine and oak scrub or in disturbed areas at the edges of scrub. Recovery Plan Status: Contribution (May 1999) This account represents South Floridas contribution to Geographic Coverage: South Florida the existing recovery plan for the Florida golden aster (FWS 1988). Figure 1. County distribution of the Florida golden aster. Description Chrysopsis floridana is a perennial herb with stems that are woody toward the base and non-woody above. The plants have basal rosettes (clusters of leaves at ground level) with leaves 4 to 10 cm long, 1.5 to 2.0 cm wide; the leaves of the rosette are densely short-wooly pubescent. The stem leaves are nearly the same size from the top to the bottom of the stem; they are obovate-elliptic, slightly clasping the stem, entire, and densely short-wooly pubescent. The flower heads are grouped into a more or less flat-topped cluster of 1 to 25 heads at the top of the stem. Each head is slightly over 2.5 cm in diameter. Both the central disc and the rays are golden yellow. C. floridana is distinguished from other members of its genus by its perennial habit, the woodiness of its stems, the wooliness and the shape of the stem and the leaves, and the way the flower heads are arranged in a flat-topped cluster (Semple 1981, Wunderlin et al. -
