286 THE EDINBURGH GAZETTE, MARCH 11, 1930, LOCAL GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACTS. COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTOEAL DIVISIONS OF EAST LOTHIAN. OBDEE BY THE SECEETAEY OF STATE. Whereas the contents and boundaries of the Electoral Divisions of Prestonpans West (No. 20), Prestonpans East (No. 21), and Tranemt North (No. 22), in the County of East Lothian, were determined by an Order, dated the 27th September 1929, made by the Secre- tary of State under Section 8 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1929; And whereas the County Council of the County of East Lothian have represented to me that it is desirable to alter the contents and boundaries of the said Electoral Divisions of Prestonpans West, Prestonpans East, and Tranent North; And whereas I am of opinion that it is expedient to give effect to the representation of ihe County Council; Now therefore I, the undersigned, one of His Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State, in virtue of the powers conferred on me by Section 51 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1889, do hereby order as follows: — The Electoral Divisions of Prestonpans West (No. 20), Prestonpans East (No. 21), and Tranent North (No. 22), as denned by the said Order of the Secretary of State dated the 27th September 1929, shall from and after this date have the following description and contents, viz.:— No. of Division. Name of Division. Contents and Boundaries. 20 Prestonp ans-West That part of the parish of Prestonpans which is bounded on the west by the parish of Inveresk, on the south by the south fence of the London and North Eastern Eailway line and on the east by the burgh of Prestonpans and the Preston Special Lighting and Scavenging Districts as existing at the date of this Order. 21 Tranent-North (1) That part of the parish of Prestonpans which lies to the south of the Prestonp ans-West and the Prestonpans- Preston Electoral Divisions; (2) That part of the parish of Tranent exclusive of the portion included within the limits of the burgh of Tranent which is bounded on the north by the north fence of the London and North Eastern Eailway line and on the south by a line drawn along the centre of the road leading from Inveresk via West Mains and North Elphinstone to Whiteloch Bridge; and (3) that part of the parish of Pencaitland exclusive of the portion included in the Gladsmuir South Division which lies to the north of a line drawn along the centre of the road leading in a south- easterly direction from Whiteloch Bridge to New Winton, to its junction with the road leading to Sandy Walk Crossing near New Winton Cottage, and thence in a north-easterly direction along the centre of the last-mentioned road to the parish boundary at Sandy Walk Crossing. PresJKHipans-East (1) The remainder of the parish of Prestonpans exclusive of the portion included within the limits of the burgh of Prestonpans, and (2) that part of the parish of Tranent ex- clusive of the portion included within the limits of the burgh of Cockenzie and Port Seton which is bounded on the south by the north fence of the London and North Eastern Eailway line.
