  • Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale to Star in Contemporary Rewrite of Medea by Director/Writer Simon Stone (Yerma)—Jan 12 to Feb 23 at Harvey Theater
Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale to star in contemporary rewrite of Medea by director/writer Simon Stone (Yerma)—Jan 12 to Feb 23 at Harvey Theater Presented by BAM and Internationaal Theater Amsterdam (ITA) as part of BAM 2020 Winter/Spring Season July 25, 2019/Brooklyn, NY—Simon Stone (Yerma) stages his contemporary rewrite of Euripides’ tragedy, Medea, at the BAM Harvey Theater beginning on January 12, 2020. The production will star Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Rose Byrne (Damages, Bridesmaids, Get Him to the Greek); two-time Emmy winner and Tony nominee Bobby Cannavale (Mauritius, The Motherfucker With the Hat); and features Tony and Emmy Award nominee Dylan Baker (The Good Wife, Happiness, The Americans). Originally staged by Internationaal Theater Amsterdam (formerly Toneelgroep Amsterdam) in 2014 in Amsterdam, Medea went on to earn critical raves internationally: the Dutch De Volkskrant called the production “a monumental, ruthless portrait” and according to The Guardian it was “funny, clever and harrowing in equal measure” (). France’s Le Figaro called it “heartbreakingly mythical.” BAM Artistic Director David Binder said, “Medea is truly an international collaboration. We’re thrilled to be working with producer David Lan (The Jungle, The Inheritance; former artistic director, Young Vic) and to continue BAM’s longstanding relationship with Internationaal Theater Amsterdam. I’m excited to welcome writer/director Simon Stone following his enormous success with Yerma, and look forward to having the incredible actors Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale in lead roles on our stage.” Medea will be produced by ITA, BAM, and David Lan, who will serve as BAM’s Theater Associate.

  • Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Movie Review by Robert Forgetting Sarah Marshall Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a 111 minute comedy released in April, 2008 and stars Jason Segel (Peter Bretter), Kristen Bell (Sarah Marshall), Mila Kunis (Rachel Jensen) and Russell Brand(Aldous Snow). After his break up with famed Sarah Marshall, Peter has a hard time coping with the emotional mess that it has left him in. He takes his step‐brother’s advice to take some time off and decides to go to Hawaii. Unfortunately, while signing into his resort hotel he finds out that his ex is staying there as well. To make matters worse she is there with her new boyfriend, Aldous Snow, a famous international pop artist. This situation results in a series of awkwardly hilarious interactions between the three of them during their stay in Hawaii. At the same time the front desk concierge and customer care employee Rachel helps Peter cope with his break‐up and together they help each other aspire for their dreams once more. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one of my favourite comedies and it includes many scenes that I just love going back to from time to time. What actually brought me to see the movie was the beautiful Mila Kunis (Rachel Jensen), but what truly made the movie great was Jason Segal, who I did not know that well at the time, but has increasingly impressed me in his acting from the TV series “How I Met Your Mother” to movies such as “I Love You, Man”. Here he plays a character that is trying to use every play in the book to get over his ex‐girlfriend and get on with his life, but ends up in a situation where he bumps into her on a daily basis.

Mountain View’s Srasa Kitchen would seemingly fall into that category. Cus- tomers order at a counter from menus displayed on flat-screen TVs and watch employees compile their customizable pan-Asian bowls from an assembly line of ingredients.
