AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Senior outfielder Josh Wilson became the Peach Belt Conference's all-time hits leader on Saturday in Armstrong Atlantic State's doubleheader loss to host Flagler College in St. Augustine. The Saints completed the series sweep from the Pirates, winning 6-3 and 4-2. Wilson's infield single in the second inning of the first game gave the Springfield, Ga., native 305 hits for his career, surpassing the previous record of 304, held by Jason Morales of UNC Pembroke, who played from 2005-2008. He finished the doubleheader with three hits, going into his final week of play with the Pirates with 307. The Saints (26-20, 14-10 PBC) took game one by building a 4-0 lead through the first six innings and holding on for the 6-3 victory. Jonathan Armold (6-1) limited the Pirates to one run and seven hits through seven innings, walking one and striking out three to notch the victory. Zach Gray earned his first save of the season by hurling 1 2/3 innings of shutout ball, giving up one hit and one walk while striking out two. Bryan Roby (2-4) took the loss for the Pirates in game one, giving up nine hits and six runs - five earned - in seven innings, walking two and striking out five. Alex Wyche led the Pirates at the plate in game one with a pair of hits and three stolen bases, while Cameron Scott and Wilson had two hits apiece. Flagler's Will Percy led the Saints with a 3-for-3 game with two runs scored. In game two, the Pirates scored a run in the top of the first as Wyche walked, stole second and third, then scored on a Chris Zittrouer sacrifice fly putting AASU up, 1-0. The score would stay 1-0 until the eighth inning, when the homestanding Saints would erupt for four runs, keyed by a two- RBI double by Ollie Bertrand. The Pirates plated one in the top of the ninth on an RBI single by Wyche and had the tying runs on base, but Flagler closer Tyler McKendree retired Chris Zittrouer on a grounder to third to close out the doubleheader sweep. At the Challenger Columbia Stadium 2145 W. Nasa Blvd; Webster, TX 77598 ::: GUEST SPEAKERS ::: ::: FRIDAY, APRIL 7th ::: 7:00 PM ::: Tony Nolan has been called a reaper of souls, harvest evangelist. He is also called authentic and down to earth; animated, funny, real. Most of all, he has been called by God to preach the Gospel across the country. His love for Jesus fuels his pursuit of those, who are far from God; and his greatest joy comes from pouring into people, who desperately need hope. Each year his ministry transforms hundreds of thousands of people through many outreach events. www.tonynolan.org ::: SATURDAY, APRIL 8th ::: 7:00 PM ::: Scott Camp has a unique blend of life experiences that give him a powerful relevant ministry to reach the unreachable with the message of Christ. He was the product of a teenage pregnancy, alcoholism, and a broken home. His own drug and alcohol abuse led to a felony charge and he was arrested while in high school. It was there that Scott committed his life to following Christ and shortly thereafter was called to preach. Scott now travels throughout the U.S. and West Africa preaching at churches, city-wide crusades, and conferences. www.scottcamp.org ::: SUNDAY, APRIL 9th ::: 7:00 PM ::: In 1986, Rick Gage walked away from a promising career coaching football and surrendered his life to full-time evangelistic ministry. SEATTLE MARINERS NEWS CLIPS February 26, 2011 Smoak’s days of being a surprise about over Posted on February 25, 2011 by John Hickey SportsPressNW.com PEORIA, AZ – At this time last year, Justin Smoak was working out about 10 miles down the road in the Texas Rangers’ spring training camp in Surprise. And there were not going to be any surprises in his Surprise sojourn. He was coming off his first full year in the Texas organization, he’d only played 54 games at Triple-A and the Rangers’ offense seemed set. So in the first week of March, he was reassigned to the club’s minor league organization and he prepared for a full season at Triple-A. Then the surprises started happening, and they’ve never really stopped. Three weeks into the season, the Rangers found themselves in need of a left-hander with power who could play first base. On April 23, Smoak, a switch-hitter with most of his power from the left side, was called up. He struggled a bit, but he was basically a regular in the lineup of a team in first place in the American League West. He played 70 games for the Rangers, hit .209 and hit eight homers in 235 at-bats. Just when it seemed the April surprise might lead to a date in the postseason, fate jumped up and smacked Smoak again on July 9. The Rangers sent him and three Texas minor leaguers – pitchers Josh Lueke and Blake Beavan and infielder Matt Lawson — to Seattle with the Mariners surrendering pitchers Cliff Lee and Mark Lowe in return.

SEATTLE MARINERS NEWS CLIPS February 21, 2011 Last updated February 20, 2011 12:35 p.m. PT Vargas, Fister expected to be part of M's rotation By TIM BOOTH AP SPORTS WRITER PEORIA, Ariz. -- For a couple of guys who've never enjoyed much job security, the start of the 2011 season is a bit different for both Jason Vargas and Doug Fister. Instead of a year ago when they were a couple of back-end pitchers expected to be part-time fill-ins of the Seattle Mariners pitching staff, Vargas and Fister enter this season almost assured of being in the Mariners rotation. "You still have to go out and throw well, but it's nice when you've got people that are counting on you to do what you've done in the past," Vargas said. Neither Vargas or Fister were statistically superior in 2010, but then again, neither were the Mariners sans AL Cy Young winner Felix Hernandez. Yet each proved a viable and valuable member of Seattle's rotation, appearing to cement their spots moving forward. Vargas set career highs in nearly every statistically category. The most important were his number of starts and innings pitched, finally proving he was fully recovered from surgery to remove a bone spur his pitching elbow in October 2007, followed by surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left hip in 2008 that all but ended his two- year career with the New York Mets. Vargas finished last season making 31 starts and throwing 192 2-3 innings, 101 more than he'd ever thrown in a major league season.

June 7, 2010 Page 1 of 52 Clips (June 7, 2010) June 7, 2010 Page 2 of 52 From the Los Angeles Times Mike Napoli's four hits lead Angels to 9-4 win over Mariners By Mike DiGiovanna Reporting from Seattle - The Angels will travel 50,509 air miles this season, the most in baseball and more than twice as many as the Chicago White Sox, who will travel a major league-low 22,832 miles. But when those flights stop in Kansas City and Seattle, who's complaining? Mike Napoli had four hits, including a tiebreaking, two-run home run in the seventh inning, to lead the Angels to a 9-4 victory and a three-game sweep of the Mariners at Safeco Field on Sunday. Erick Aybar also had four hits - a double and three singles - and Robb Quinlan snapped an 0-for-2010 slump with two doubles and a single, part of a season-high 18-hit attack that pushed the Angels (31-28) to their eighth win in nine games. Three of those wins came during a four-game series at Kauffman Stadium, where the Angels, now a half-game out of first place in the American League West, are 26-7 since 2003. The Angels are 23-12 at Safeco Field since 2007. The offense has come to life since Kendry Morales broke a bone above his left ankle in a freak injury May 29; in eight games without the first baseman, the Angels are batting .310 (92 for 297) with 58 runs, 13 homers and 25 doubles.
