2019 of WAHLUKE SLOPE

WINEMAKER NOTES This Rose of Cabernet Sauvignon had 12 hours of skin contact and was pressed gently to produce a delicate, salmon-tinted juice. The was fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve the fruit flavors. The resulting wine is light and crisp, with just a touch of sweetness on the finish. The wine is full of and ripe red fruit flavors, perfect for a hot summer day.

VINEYARD NOTES The Wahluke Slope is located in Eastern ’s Columbia Valley. The site is considered Zone 3, the hottest in the region. Our 480-acre is a southern facing block with a two percent slope and shallow, rocky soil. HARVEST NOTES The 2019 growing season started off slow due to winter storms that lasted into February, but consistently warm and sunny days in the summer put growth back on track. The overall heat accumulation remained just above average for Washington State. An early in mid-October threatened the vines, but luckily none of our fruit was affected. Overall, the 2019 showcased a fairly typical vintage in Washington, which is a good sign for the consistency and quality of the .
