. 2001-2002 bedrock mapping focusing on volcanic stratigraphy and structural geology and mineral deposit studies for Doris and Naartok area. . products include 4 Current Research papers and open file map 1553 . Supporting an M.Sc. On Madrid area “deformation zone” . 2003 bedrock mapping of the Boston area, products will include a Current Research paper and an open file map . Collaboration with Miramar Mining Corp., Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and University of Western Ontario Borden Basin Project Northern Baffin Island Objectives: .Resolve stratigraphy/sedimentology of complex carbonate-shale succession exerting prominent facies control on mineralisation .Regional metallogeny, structural, stratigraphic controls on mineralisation Field Work: 2003, 2004, 2005 Project Leadership: Elizabeth Turner (C-NGO)

Geologic Context: Numerous base metal showings in unmetamorphosed Mesoproterozoic aulacogen (300 x 200 km) with considerable syndepositional faulting, but no known post-rifting event significant enough to drive large volumes of metalliferous fluid

. 17 Mt 10% Zn+Pb Tremblay Peninsula Borden Basin Project

Early Results: . Strong facies control on mineralisation – most showings hosted by organic-rich, Fe- rich basinal carbonate rhythmites deposited in deep anoxic basin . Strong structural control on mineralisation – commonly on low-displacement adjustment faults rather than prominent rift-faults. Products: .GSC Bulletin (anticipated publication 2006) .GSC Current Research 2003 (2 papers) St. George’s Society Cliffs, .GSC Current Research 2004 (2 papers, in press) near Other Projects
