IDPs CURRENT SITUATION CRISIS IN

After destroyed the central government of Somalia the conflict and consequences of disasters resulting in large scale under development, high levels of mortality and morbidity, large scale destruction of infrastructure including education and health facilities, and lack of access to livelihoods and education. This misfortune leaves thousands of Somali people in need of critical assistance and support every year. The population is highly mobile, primarily due to nomadic life styles; Food shortages and clan warfare increase the mobility through displacement, SOPDDO has been carried out assessment analysis report and have focused on the selected areas as needs and situational analysis in the districts of Wadajir, Dharkenly, Hamarweyne, Hodan, Bondere and Shangani since the districts were over whelmed with IDPs influxes which have been experienced in Mogadishu from June and July that a great deal shows the high influx arrivals of new IDPs populations coming from the far areas within Lower/Middle shebelle, Bay, and regions, as had been sourced out from the various desperate families living under the unkind conditions at various areas within the mentioned districts and this certain impact emerged following the due course impact of the massive devastative recurrent consecutive drought effects which had destructed the livelihood assets both the communities whom were dependant on livestock and farm crop productions. The new enormous IDPs in Mogadisho dangerously reveals the worsening status of the suffering IDP populations where they remain scattered at the open harsh weather conditions, mainly due to lack shelter, food, Education, access to water, basic household utensils, clothes and lack of toilets and pit latrines. The other instant concerns is the high poor level of health status and the high increasing level of malnutrition status mainly on children, lactating and pregnant mothers, as young infants depending on breast milk can be seen crying due their mothers facing challenging moments lacking food and very poor malnutrition conditions thus highly contributed very limited breast milk production which in turn resulted young children to have no milk that can lead them to face starvation. The other concerns on the current situation is the high probability that pregnant mothers could face difficult challenging moment during delivery processes as there are no midwifes and appropriate delivery handling care services as they are living under the worsening current scenario and due to this effects there could be greater chances of pregnant mothers dying because of lack of emergency health care providers. in Mogadishu the situation has seriously worsened over the June and July 2011, mainly as a result of the high massive influx of IDPs moved from Bay, Bakool, Gedo, Lower shebele,

SOPDDO ORGANIZATION Page 2 Middle shebele regions and parts of areas with combined impacts of the recurrent drought and conflicts joined with much of animals died and severe of food shortage crisis. The influx of IDPs is comparison over the past decades where by the current state of affairs indicate most of the Somalis had not experienced such irregular load over the past several years in accordance to the basis of population displacement and movement on the certain impacts of drought and conflict effects. Completely, the lack of food in the south which emerged due to the verily limited stocks caused by the devastative drought, total failure of food aid on the due course postponement of WFP operations in large scale parts of the south regions also there are high price inflation on local & imported merchandise, the certain mixture of these effects had generally impacted on the most vulnerable households whom were earlier tormenting from their own internal problems,
