SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Tony Award-winning Best Musical of 2005, Monty Python's Spamalot, will visit San Luis Obispo for one night only on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

Cal Poly Arts presents the wacky musical, lovingly "ripped-off" from the internationally famous comedy team's most popular motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Based on the Tony Award-winning direction of and the riotous choreography of Casey Nicholaw, Monty Python's Spamalot features a book by Python star – based on the screenplay of Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Monty Python creators Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin – with music and lyrics by the Grammy Award-winning team of Idle and John Du Prez.

Telling the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table in their quest for the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Spamalot features a chorus line of dancing divas and knights, taunting Frenchmen, killer rabbits, and one legless Black Knight.

As of press time, a limited number of seats remain. Patrons may also check back with the Performing Arts Center Ticket Office closer to show date to see if any additional tickets have become available.

Patrons are invited to attend a free pre-concert lecture presented by Music Dept. Faculty Member Alyson McLamore at 6:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center’s Gallery Level lobby.

Student and adult tickets for the performance range from $24 to $68 and may be purchased at the Performing Arts Center Ticket Office, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
