5,656,183 mental maths questions were answered during the challenge in Live Mathletics.
Time s pent online by the students on Liv e Mathletics alone was 297,261 minutes – over 4,900 hours! Students were matched in real time with other students of similar ability online in 60 second challenges of speed and accuracy. Students could choose the difficult y of the questions they are asked from basic addition 1 – 10 to more complex mental arithmetic. Scores from the first 10 games played on each level contributed to a student’s final challenge score, however many students played beyond this enjoying the stim ulation and excitement of Live Mathletics.

Curriculum Mathletics
Curriculum Mathletics improvement is calculated by comparing the score each student gained when they first complete an activity and measuring it against the result they achieved the final time they completed th at same activity. Each activity focuses on a mathematical concept wi th students receiving different questions on that concept each time they complete the activity.

Live Mathletics
To measure Live Mathletics improvement, the first score each student gained in their first game on a level is measured against their highest results they achieved on that same level. Each level has concepts of a similar mental math s difficulty with students challenged by one of these skills each time they play a game.

The On Your Marks Maths Challenge is an inclusive event that allows all students to participate and encourages them to be inspired by their own abilities in mathematics, building academic confidence and empower students to love learning.
To reward studen ts for their participation, all students receive digital participation certificates, and those students who excel and achieve top placings receive medals and commemorative printed certificates. The top 3 classes receive class trophies and special certifica tes for each student in the class. The top 3 schools receive school trophies recognising the collective achievement of all students in the school.
The competition is divided into two divisions: • Primary Years – Kindergarten/Reception/Prep to Grade 6 and • Secondary Years – Grade 7 to A Level 2/Grade 12.
