Friday 7:00 a.m. Saturday 8:00 a.m. A Word From Fr. Eckert Dear Friends, At the very end of my four years in college, during the week between Weekly Calendar the completion of academic work and graduation, my university hosted something called “Senior Week.” Sunday, November 18 This was a few days of organized activities for the ~ 8:00 am Mass graduating class to enjoy while the professors worked ~ 9:00 am Adult Education on our final grades and preparations were made for ~10:30 am Mass the graduation ceremonies. While it was an enjoyable ~12:30 pm Mass (en español) week, I distinctly remember the feeling of Monday, November 19 disappointment that I had not appreciated many of the ~ 7:00 am Mass followed by confession people with whom I had just spent the last four years. Here were fellow students from all over that I literally Tuesday, November 20 passed every day on the way to class, and in some ~ 8:30 am Mass followed by confession cases even sat right next to in class, and I had not taken the time to get to know many of them while I Wednesday, November 21 - Church office Closed was a student. During that week we enjoyed each ~ 9:00 am Mass followed by confession other’s company, but afterwards, we were off to new No All Night Adoration horizons, and in most cases, never to see one another Thursday, November 22 - Happy Thanksgiving again. It seemed to take this break from the normal, ~ 9:00 am Mass rigorous schedule of academic work and all of the other demands on a college student to make me Friday, November 23 - Church Office Closed realize the gifts that were surrounding me every day ~ 9:00 am Mass followed by Confession in my fellow students. I share this little reflection today since this is Thanksgiving week. For most of Saturday, November 24 us, I hope, this week presents us with a slightly lighter ~ 8:00 am Mass followed by Confession work schedule. Just like that “Senior Week” for me ~ 3:00 pm Confessions all those years ago, I hope we all get the opportunity ~ 4:30 pm Vigil Mass during this different schedule to look around at the people in our lives and thank God for the gift that they are to us. The happier thing though, is that, hopefully, after this week, we are not all off to new horizons, but instead, back to our regular schedules. Take the time that is presented this week to take a breath, look around at the people in your life, and to thank God that they are close to you. Sooner or later, circumstances change, and friends and family come Sat. 4:30 pm =Gail Kobylus into and exit our day to day routines. Let this Thanksgiving be an opportunity to look around and Sunday: appreciate who is in your life right now, and to 8:00 am ♥ Pro Populo commit yourself to appreciating them beyond just this 10:30 am =Ida Ewing Davis special week. 12:30 pm =Irene Abdul Mon. 7:00 am = Anthony D’Andrea Tues. 8:30 am = Francis and Alice Hallett With prayers of gratitude for all of you during this Wed. 9:00 am =Douglas Mark Lefler special time, I remain Thurs. 9:00 am ♥ Intentions of Bill Rogers and family Fri. 9:00 am =Lois Paradowski Sincerely in Christ, Sat. 8:00 am ♥ Intentions of Mary & Jim Reiff and family Fr.
