The following sections provide details on how to field Viking armies and their enemies as they were during the Viking age (more or less anyway). It’s worth noting here that the lists defined below describe the saga-style interpretation of history where heroes are powerful and can have a major effect on battles. If you would like to stick with a more conservative (some say ‘realistic’) view of the role of commanders in historical armies, then you should restrict your hero choices to a single Noble Warrior as the army general, and all other commanders using the stats of the Army Standard Bearer. This way the primary role of the heroes will be a command support role, which is much more historically feasible.
