Speaker – Mr. Mansoor

Topic – A Disease called Growth – An Energy vs Money Perspective of Why Our Planet is Dying and Why Our Economics is Collapsing

Date – 29th March, 2014

Timings – 3.00 PM onwards

Venue – Lecture Theatre 1, ABB Building

Speaker Profile – Mr. Mansoor Khan, son of late filmmaker and cousin of popular film actor , studied Computer Science at IIT Mumbai, Cornell University, and MIT Boston and then moved onto directing four feature films – , Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, and Josh. He is now settled in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, where he indulges in organic farming and other social causes. He has authored a book 'The Third Curve' (released in Oct 2013) which talks about world economy. In his book, he discusses about unsustainable cities and false understanding of money by society. His book examines the co-relation between the compulsions of economic growth and the limits imposed on man by nature.

Mr. Mansoor Khan has visited and delivered lectures at venues like IIM, Bangalore; ISB, Hyderabad; Morgan Stanley, Mumbai; Yahoo, Bangalore; Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bangalore; Foreign Services Institute, New Delhi; Bombay Chartered Accountants Association, Mumbai; Mumbai Lit Fest 2013 and Times Carnival Literature Fest, Bangalore 2014.

We believe the students of our university will immensely benefit from his knowledge and ideas on conservation of energy and environment.
