  • Building Bridges and Promoting People to People Interaction in South Asia
Building Bridges and Promoting People to People Interaction in South Asia EDITORS Nishchal N. Pandey Kumar Shrestha 2012 I Published by Centre for South Asian Studies, Kathmandu www.csas.org.np ©Publisher Year of Publication 2012 ISBN 978-9973-2-5165-6 Printed at Jagadamba Press Hattiban Lalitpur, 5250017-19 Email: [email protected] II PREFACE This publication is an outcome of a regional conference on “Building Bridges and Promoting People to People Interaction in South Asia” jointly organized in Kathmandu by the Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS), the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Confl ict (GPPAC) and the Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS) in October 2011. South Asia is one of the least connected regions. Political and security cruxes have for long impacted on regional cooperation endeavors even as trade, connectivity and travel have become helpless victims in the face of bilateral problems. Despite these hurdles, the civil society of South Asia has continued not only to advocate for peace and amity in the region, but also to recommend measures to strengthen SAARC, taking cue from the success story of ASEAN and the European Union. The South Asian civil society is a robust and enthusiastic group of people from every profession that has time and again demanded that SAARC must become a fl exible alliance that is effective and effi cient. While SAARC is an inter- governmental association, successive Summits have emphasized on the importance of promoting people-to-people contacts at all levels outside the State sector. The community of academics, CSOs, women leaders, NGO representatives and media persons that participated in this roundtable turned out to be an illustrious community with shared values championing peace, freedom and greater economic integration.

Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} How A Good Person Can Really Win by Pavan Choudary ISBN 13: 9789380710457. In the world of power, there are broadly two kinds of people one, the immoral people for whom only the goals matter; two, the good people, for whom the means to reach these goals are as important. This book challenges the belief that a good man hasn't got a chance in the real world. It shows how goodness, when coupled with creativity and wisdom, can turn formidable. With real-life examples, original insights and practical tips this book enables the good man to tackle the immoral men and overcome them. It also propels the immoral man into understanding that riding roughshod over others may take care of the present but has no future. The book is free of any platitudes that don't work and free of any unproven recommendations. It has relevance to all walks of life. This book goes beyond its previous Best Selling edition When you are Sinking become a Submarine. "synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title. Pavan Choudary is the author of path breaking books like Broom & Groom (co-author Kiran Bedi), A Trilogy of Wisdom, Machiavelli for Moral People and The Rx Factor. • Conference Brochure
20th September 2018 | New Delhi CONFERENCE BROCHURE #MedTekon2018 Thank You Partners Successful Universal Health Coverage (UHC) has so far eluded India, however, with the path-breaking arrival of the Ayushman Bharat Program, the country’s healthcare landscape & ecosystem is about to undergo tremendous change. Medical Technology Association of India (MTaI) represents a wide spectrum of medical device companies in India, having a strong manufacturing, healthcare worker training footprint and stands for greater patient access and quality care. In the pursuit of its mission, MTaI is organizing its Annual MedTech Conference, the MTaI MedTekon 2018: ‘MedTech – Vitalizing Ayushman Bharat’. The healthcare sector drives on four wheels – the providers (hospitals), the pharmaceutical industry, the medical technology (MedTech) industry and the health insurance industry. Among these, the MedTech industry is the smallest, but in some ways the most vital wheel. Medical technology has undoubtedly had incredible impact on patients’ lives and is vital to Ayushman Bharat’s success. MTaI is, therefore, organizing the MTaI MedTekon 2018: ‘MedTech – Vitalizing Ayushman Bharat’, which will bring patients, industry, doctors & policy makers together, all on the same platform. The theme of the Conference is ‘Contribution of MedTech Industry in the successful implementation of Ayushman Bharat program’. The objective of the Summit is to carve out a roadmap, in consultation with the government and other stakeholders for the MedTech industry to contribute to the successful implementation of Ayushman Bharat Program. MTaI takes this opportunity to call upon all stakeholders to this unique platform to discuss and deliberate upon the opportunities and challenges in the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Program and how to support it to enable last mile coverage.
