The Treasury Department stated that the economic and financial sanctions administered by the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control were no longer in effect. The Government of Myanmar was under economic sanctions by the US Treasury Department. 2. Pakistan passes long-awaited anti-honour killing and anti-rape legislations Pakistan Parliament in a joint sitting on 6 October 2016 unanimously passed two bills, one seeking to curb murders in the name of honour and the other to punish rapists by use of modern technology of DNA testing in probes involving rape cases. The two bills are titled as, Criminal law amendment (offences in the name or on the pretext of honour) bill, 2016 and Anti-rape (criminal laws amendment) bill, 2016. The anti-honour killing bill states, relatives of the victim will be able to pardon the killer if he/she is awarded capital punishment; however, the culprit will have to face mandatory life sentence (25 years). 3. Urjit R Patel has been appointed as New Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a period of 3 years with effect from 4th September, 2016. He is 24th Governor of RBI. Dinesh Kumar Khara has been appointed Managing Director (MD) of State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest Bank. He was previously working as chief of SBI Funds Management Pvt. Ltd. Government appointed Ashok Kumar Garg, Raj Kamal Verma, Copal Murli Bhagat, and Himanshu Joshi as Executive Directors in Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, Corporation Bank, and Oriental Bank of Commerce respectively.     India has pledged $1.25 million to the UN relief agency for Palestinian refugees as it voiced concern over the fragile situation and ongoing conflicts in the middle-east region.
