 GCCI along with other Salt Manufacturer Associations had represented effectively to the Gujarat Government and finally the Government decided to rollback 5% VAT on industrial salt.

Farewell to Shri Vipul Singhal, ARM (WR)

Western Railway’s Area Railway Manager of Gandhidham Shri Vipul Singhal has been transferred as Deputy General Manager, Rail Development Corporation, Delhi. The GCCI bid a farewell on 18th April, 2016 at Chamber Bhavan. The function was headed by the Vice President of GCCI Shri Babubhai Humbal. Shri Singhal was felicitated by Shri Babubhai and also by various business organizations. Shri Singhal shared his experience with all and expressed his thanks to entire business community for supporting him during his tenure.

Open House by GPCB

Open House Discussion and Environmental Clinic for Plywood Industries was organized by Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), Gandhinagar on 28th April, 2016. The meeting was convened by Mr. Sushil H. Vegda, Sr. Environmental Engineer, Unit Head of and Mr. G. H. Trivedi, Sr. Environmental Engineer, Vigilance Head of & Kutch Divisions.

Large number of industrialist participated in this meeting and shared their problems with the officials. The official of GPCB assured that the problems and obstacles faced by the manufacturers will be put-up to the appropriate higher authorities and will be resolved at the earliest.

Farewell to Shri Mahendra S. Patel, IAS, Collector, Kachchh

Shri Mahendra S. Patel, IAS, Collector, Kachchh has been transferred to Surat as Collector, Surat. The GCCI bid him a farewell on 15th May, 2016 at Chamber Bhavan. The function was headed by President Shri Dinesh Gupta. He welcomed Shri M. S. Patel and appreciated him for efforts put by him for development of Kachchh. The President Shri Gupta, other office bearers and past presidents of GCCI felicitated Shri Patel with a memento. The representatives of various social and business organizations also felicitated the guest. Shri Patel shared his experiences in Kachchh and expressed heartiest thanks to the people of Kachchh.

Chamber’s Representation in Western Railway

GCCI’s Past Vice President and Executive Committee Member Shri Nandlal R. Goyal has nominated as member of Gandhidham Station Advisory Committee for the year 2016-2017 by the Western Railway, Ahmadabad.  A Joint hearing on Proposal for general revision of its Scale of Rates and fixation of reference tariff for up-gradation, maintenance and Operation of existing barge jetty at Tuna, Kandla Port on BOT basis under PPP mode for thirty years and adoption of Kandla Port Trust was organised by Tariff Authority of Major Ports, Mumbai on 20th April, 2016 was attended by Shri Aashish Joshi, Joint Secretary, GCCI.

 7th Quality Evaluation Laboratory was inaugurated at Gandhidham by Spices Board, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India on 4th May, 2016. GCCI’s Secretary Shri Murlidhar B. Jagani, Past Vice Presidents Shri Nandlal R. Goyal & Shri Mahadev Rajani were present at the inaugural opening ceremony.

 GCCI’s Secretary, Shri Murlidhar Jagani, Past President Shri Parasmal Nahata, Past Vice President Shri Mahadev Rajani and Member Shir Kishor Makwana have met Shri D. B. Kodiyakar, Superintendent Engineer, PGVCL, Anjar on 6th May, 2016 and discussed various long pending issues of twin city like Underground Cabling in – Gandhidham area, Separate sub-station at KASEZ & DC-5 area, bifurcation of Adipur Sub-Division and monthly review meeting at Chamber between executives of PGVCL and costumers. Shri Kodiyakar assured that he will take fast and appropriate action to resolve the long pending issues of twin city.

 Delegation of 8 members headed by GCCI’s Vice President Shri Babualal V. Humbal had visited GCCI SUMMIT & EXPO 2016 organised by The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Ahmadabad on 29th & 30th April, 2016 at Mahtma Mandir, Gandhinagar. It is honour for GCCI that Shri Babulalbhai was on the dais with the various well-known industrialist and distinguished guests from Gujarat Government. The delegation attended various interactive sessions on the subject of Revenue & Urban Development, Energy, VAT, Industry, Food & Health, Labor & Transport and Forest & Environment.
