Athletic Training Services The Athletic Training Room is a fully independent operation of athletics that employs two certified athletic trainers supported by athletic training students. As physician extenders, the staff provides athletes with what they would receive from a physician’s office. Injured athletes do not have to schedule appointments or travel to receive medical services because the ATR is directly in the athletic setting. That mission is to prevent and care for athletic injuries while improving the performance of all Highland athletes, and their dedication to this mission is one reason HCC athletics compete at a superior level.

2018 Season Preview Off a 35-1 season that included a third place finish at the NJCAA DII National tournament along with a KJCCC and Regional title the Highland women enter this season as the preseason favorite in the KJCCC at the DII level out of the six teams and are preseason ranked #3 in the NJCAA DII National polls.

Highland women enter the 2018-19 season looking to replacing 90% of the teams 98.2 points per game from last year. Off a team that shattered records at Highland only three players return with experience as several moved on to four-year schools including a few to NCAA Division I programs. The most experience for Scottie returners belongs to sophomore guard, Keondra White who played in all 36 games with 34 starts. White averaged 4.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game and looks to help lead the way on the court for Highland this season and increase her numbers. Stefania Chiziane is back as the teams top returning scorer from last year averaging 7.2 points per game last season after entering the fold for Highland at semes- ter. Daisah Purnell is the lone other returner for Highland as she is back after a role on the bench last year playing in 29 games averaging 2.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. Scotties will head into the season with two more sophomores on the roster as Janiya Davis and Tuana Dinc both transfer to Highland after stints at Vincennes University and University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, respectively. Davis played in 29 games at Vincennes last year and averaged 10.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game and will play guard, while Dinc comes to Highland from NCAA DI program in UTRGV having only seen action in six games last year but does have a pedigree having competed for her home country Turkey’s National team on the U18 and U16 teams and will anchor the frontcourt at forwad.

The freshman core coming in will be looked upon to provide an impact for the team with plenty to replace. A trio of freshman hail from Chicago, Illinois as Armani Turner and Tymia Wallace will both impact the backcourt, while Keysha Remied looks to work into the mix at forward. Both Tiana Gipson and Khaliah Hines are expected to figure into the equation at point guard, while Erin Randle and BelindaAmes will each look to make in impact as forwards for the Scotties.
