The territory The Winery is located in the North of Puglia, named Daunia, an area inhabited since Paleolithic times. This area became witness to the development of the Dauanian civilization ( a population from the Agean ) between the 10’th and 130th centuries BC. Daunia became a Roman province in the 3rd century BC and Lucera its main town, illustrated by the splendor of the Roman ruins still present in the area. The arrival of the Swabians in the 12th century AD and their most important Emperor, Frederick II, whose love for this land rich in oaks, wild boar and fox made Daunia an ideal environment for hunting and therefore a privileged residence of the court during that period. The location and landscape make for a well-ventilated area with great day-night temperature excursion.
