HAMLETSCENEN READY FOR A NEW SEASON OF WORLD-CLASS THEATRE

HamletScenen is ready for the summer and tickets are now on sale for this year’s Shakespeare Festival at Hamlet’s Castle. It will be a diverse firework display with everything from internationally acclaimed theatre ensembles to world-class film, dance and music. All theatre performances will be accompanied by surtitles in both Danish and English. Read more about the Festival below

We will also be presenting mimetic puppet theatre for all ages and nationalities at Kronborg Castle, when Shakespeare Puppets at Hamlet’s Castle take the stage with their critically acclaimed puppet version of King Lear. Buy your ticket here , and read more about the production here

As a special feature this year, in collaboration with Kulturværftet, we are presenting a completely new production, The Maze of Hamlet: an adventurous journey into a mysterious no man’s land between fantasy and reality in a poetic inferno of 3D film, music, humour and theatre. HamletScenen and the internationally acclaimed theatre company, Staatsschauspiel Dresden set the scene for an irreverent Hamlet cocktail of memorial ceremony and rock concert. Prepare to be astonished and indulged, as the tragedy is brought to life in an unrivalled potpourri of video, rock and roll and dazzling acting. HamletScenen invites you to a magical evening of Shakespearean cinema with this classic version of The Merchant of Venice. Prepare to be captivated by the romance and broken-hearted by the cruelty when Shylock tricks Antonio into a savage loan. HamletScenen rounds off this year’s Shakespeare Festival with a musical firework display of works from the classi- cal and modern repertoire in the company of internationally acclaimed singers and dancers, and budding stars.
