AP52858PU-N Polyclonal Antibody to elastase (N-term) - Aff - Purified

Alternate names: Bone marrow serine protease, ELA2, ELANE, Elastase-2, HLE, Human leukocyte elastase, Medullasin, Neutrophil elastase, PMN elastase Quantity: 0.4 ml Concentration: lot specific Background: Elastases form a subfamily of serine proteases that hydrolyze many in addition to elastin. Humans have six elastase which encode the structurally similar proteins. The product of this hydrolyzes proteins within specialized neutrophil lysosomes, called azurophil granules, as well as proteins of the extracellular matrix following the 's release from activated . The enzyme may play a role in degenerative and inflammatory diseases by its proteolysis of collagen-IV and elastin of the extracellular matrix. This protein degrades the outer membrane protein A (OmpA) of E. coli as well as the virulence factors of such bacteria as Shigella, Salmonella and Yersinia. Mutations in this gene are associated with cyclic neutropenia and severe congenital neutropenia (SCN). This gene is clustered with other serine protease gene family members, azurocidin 1 and proteinase 3 genes, at 19pter. All 3 genes are expressed coordinately and their protein products are packaged together into azurophil granules during neutrophil differentiation. Uniprot ID: P08246 NCBI: NP_001963 GeneID: 1991 Host / Isotype: Rabbit / Ig Immunogen: Synthetic peptide - KLH conjugated - between 13-39 amino acids from the N-terminal region (between 20-47aa ) of human Neutrophil elastase Format: State: Liquid purified Ig fraction Purification: Purified through a Protein A column followed by peptide affinity purification Buffer System: PBS with 0.09% (W/V) Sodium azide Applications: Western blot: 1/1000. Enzyme immunoassay: 1/1000. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. Specificity: This antibody recognizes human Neutrophil elastase at N-term. Add.
