Résumé : Les études de phylogénie moléculaire sur les Lépidoptères Rhopalocères et Zygènes sont de plus en plus nombreuses ces dernières années modifiant la systématique et la taxinomie de ces deux groupes. Une mise à jour complète est réalisée dans ce travail. Un cadre décisionnel a été élaboré pour les niveaux spécifiques et infra-spécifique avec une approche intégrative de la taxinomie. Ce cadre intégre notamment un aspect biogéographique en tenant compte des zones-refuges potentielles pour les espèces au cours du dernier maximum glaciaire. Cette démarche permet d’avoir une approche homogène pour le classement des taxa aux niveaux spécifiques et infra-spécifiques. Les conséquences pour l’acquisition des données dans le cadre d’un inventaire national sont développées. Summary : Studies on molecular phylogenies of Butterflies and Burnets have been increasingly frequent in the recent years, changing the systematics and taxonomy of these two groups. A full update has been performed in this work. -

A total of 35 species are given in the Papilionidae (2), Pieridae (11), Satyridae (8), Argynnidae (4), Lycaenidae (5) and Hesperiidae (5) families from the research area that has not been studied previously on the butterflies. Original reference, synonyms, examined materials and distributions of each species are added. However, 6 species: Euchloe ausonia (Hübner, [1804]), Pieris brassicae (Linnaeus, 1758) (Pieridae), Melitaea phoebe (Goeze, 1779) (Argynnidae), Plebejus zephyrinus (Christoph, 1884) (Lycaenidae), Carcharodus lavatherae (Esper, [1783]) and Eogenes alcides Herrich-Schäffer, [1852] (Hesperiidae) are the first record for Mardin Province. Rudi Verovnik UGOTAVLJANJE VELIKOSTI POPULACIJE IN OGROŽENOSTI DETELJINEGA MODRINA (Polyommatus thersites) NA SAVSKIH PRODIH PRI LJUBLJANI MAGISTRSKO DELO Ljubljana, 2018 POVZETEK Raziskava razširjenosti deteljinega modrina ( Polyommatus thersites ) v osrednji Sloveniji in dolo čitev stanja njegovega habitata je bila opravljena zaradi dolo čitve naravovarstvenih smernic, ki bodo omogočale ohranitev vrste v osrednji Sloveniji in na vseh podobnih obmo čjih v Evropi. Podrobneje smo preiskovali obmo čje na savskih prodih pri Ljubljani. Ugotovili smo, da je na obmo čju savskih prodov prisotna stabilna populacija deteljinega modrina. Na raziskovanem obmo čju smo opravili 17 terenskih dni v obdobju od 17. 5. do 8. 6. 2017. V tem času smo z MRR metodo markirali 152 osebkov, od tega 75 samcev in 77 samic. Dnevne velikosti populacije, ocenjene po metodi Jolly Seber, so se gibale nekje med 80 in 190 osebki, kar je izjemno za to vrsto, ki se sicer obi čajno pojavlja v nizkih gostotah. Na preiskovani lokaciji je ve č lo čenih rastiš č hranilne rastline turške detelje ( Onobrychis sp.), tako znotraj rastiš č kot tudi med lo čenimi rastiš či pa so se pojavljale migracije. Med migracijami so osebki preleteli tako travniške površine kot tudi makadamske poti. Deteljinega modrina smo najve čkrat ujeli na ploskvah s hranilnimi rastlinami (77 %), nekajkrat pa tudi izven rastiš č hranilne rastline. -

These rugged mountains rise steeply from Turkey’s Black Sea coast and are an extension of the Caucasus mountains which are considered by the World Wide Fund for Nature to be a global biodiversity hotspot. The Kaçkars are thought to be the richest area for butterflies in this range, a hotspot in a hotspot with over 160 resident species. The valley of the River Çoruh lies at the heart of the Kaçkar and the centre of the trip explored its upper reaches at altitudes of 1,300—2,300m. The area consists of steep-sided valleys with dry Mediterranean vegetation, typically with dense woodland and trees in the valley bottoms interspersed with small hay-meadows. In the upper reaches these merge into alpine meadows with wet flushes and few trees. The highest mountain in the range is Kaçkar Dağı with an elevation of 3,937 metres The tour was centred around the two charming little villages of Barhal and Olgunlar, the latter being at the fur- thest end of the valley that you can reach by car. The area is very remote and only accessed by a narrow road that winds its way up the valley providing extraordinary views that change with every turn. -

ARMENIA Cranes, Raptors & Culture 29 August – 10 September 2017 TOUR REPORT Leaders: John Muddeman & Hasmik Ter-Voskanyan Tuesday 29 August 2017: Transfer day to Armenia Meeting at the departure gate in the pleasant Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris for our Air France flights, we boarded a slightly delayed flight to Yerevan, which otherwise went without a hitch, even just starting to descend in time over eastern Anatolia to give those with window seats an inkling of the vast areas of sometimes hilly semi desert conditions on the ground. With the light fading fast as we landed, we all finally left the plane and negotiated the security check. Being a familiar face from 2016, we quickly found Lilit our local guide and Vaharam our driver in the modern Zvartnots Airport and made our way through a quite busy Yerevan to our centrally located hotel. A swift check-in saw us down just 15 minutes afterwards for a late dinner, since although it was only effectively 7:00 pm UK time (being three hours ahead locally), after the nearly five hour flight and almost day-long transfer for most, we were happy to retire early and get ready for our (mostly) cultural introductory day in the country. Wednesday 30 August 2017: Arch of Charenc, Garni Temple, Geghard Monastery, Yerevan (lunch/tour) With temperatures forecast to reach around 35ºC, we had an 8am breakfast and were out 90 minutes later, having changed money just over the road. Despite it being the ‘cultural day’ of the tour, we all took binoculars, cameras and scopes along anyway, 'just in case'! Indeed, Yerevan had even yielded hooded crows, calling Syrian woodpecker and a laughing dove of most note for the early risers in the hotel surroundings. -

Records are still being gathered and can be sent to Stoyan Beshkov at NMNH, Sofia. Butterfly List See Butterflies of Bulgaria website (Details below) Introduction Bulgaria is situated in eastern Europe with its eastern border running along the Black Sea coast. It is separated from Romania for much of its northern border by the River Danube. It shares its western border with Serbia and Macedonia, and its southern border with Greece and Turkey. Bulgaria has a land area of almost 111,000 sq km (smaller than England but bigger than Scotland) and a declining human population of 7.15 million (as of 2015), 1.5 million of which live in the capital city, Sofia. It is very varied in both climate, topography and habitats. Substantial parts of the country are mountainous, particularly in the west, south-west and central ‘spine’ of the country and has the highest mountain in the Balkan Mountains (Musala peak in the Rila Mountains, 2925m) (Map 1). Almost 70% of the land area is above 200m and over 27% above 600m. About 40% of the country is forested and this is likely to increase through natural regeneration due to the abandonment of agricultural land. Following nearly 500 years under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, Bulgaria was independent for just a few years from 1908 before coming under the domination of the soviet communist regime in 1946. -

Their 21 species were identified belonging to 3 different families from Kohat, Pakistan during September-December 2008. The reported families Namphalidae covered 33%, Papilionidae 10%, and Pieridae 57% biodiversity of butterflies of Kohat. In Namphalidae included: species belonging to subfamily Nymphalinae, Indian fritillary, Argynnis hyperbius Linnaeus; common castor, Ariadne merione (Cramer); painted lady, Cynthia cardui (Linnaeus); peacock pansy, Junonia almanac Linnaeus; blue pansy, J. orithya Linnaeus; common leopard, Phalantha phalantha (Drury); specie belonging to subfamily Satyrinae, white edged rock brown, Hipparchia parisatis (Kollar). In Papilionidae included: subfamily Papilioninae, lime butterfly, Papilio demoleus Linnaeus and common mormon, Pa. polytes Linnaeus.
